Nandos Radio Advert

The target audience for this advert is probably children and family around all ages who tend to go out for meals and who like meat. The social class of this advert is aimed at would be B or C class .This advert does seem to provide the needs that are needed in order to attract this target audience .

I have just listen to a radio advertisement from Nandos which lasted the normal time in which and radio advert is meant to last thirty seconds. It was meant to be a humeral advert that was meant to use comedy to sell the advert. They used this to tell people who are listening about Nandos and to inform them what it is about and then persuade them into going . the advert is an native with someone with male Mexican accent speaking they have done this because the spice that is in Nados food is related to Mexican cousins .I do not think this is very good since the food that is on sale there are Portuguese not Mexican so I feel like this voice is not really needed .the man used informal langue with a lot of hints to stereotypical Mexican language .I believe that this could be offending people who are Mexican but since they have done it in a light hearted feel I don’t think that this advert will offend anyone to the point of suing . The advert had a slogan which is “its ok” they used this to generate all people into going to into Nandos by saying “its ok” who you are you can go to Nandos .When listening to this I think that It gets too repetitive and can get very annoying once you have listened to the advert a few times , but I will also admit that it does manage to stay in the mind for a while .They say there the name Nados three times in the advert ,this is done once at the beginning and twice at the end this allows people enough times to know who it is that they promoting. I think that this is good because it allows multiple chances to get the name if they missed it the first time. Although they say the name of the shop multiple times it never says any of the contact information of the shop they have done this because there are so many Nados shops across the country it would go over the thirty second mark so they hope that there is a Nandos near to the listener that they know where it is this might be done because a lot of listeners will be driving so they will not be able to write down

the address. I don’t think that is a good idea I think they should at least give the website name so the listeners have something to look up and on this it should show where all of their shops are located .There was also mariachi music playing in the background of this because the spicy meat of Nandos is meant to be form Mexico but that is wrong since it Portuguese. The music is fine for them to have on so long as they have not breached copyright on the track and that they have paid legal to have it on the advert. This again could offend someone who is Mexican but it does not seem the breach the RACC code which only says that you must follow the equality act and the human rights act. In my option I don’t think it is too bad but I can see how people can be offended by it .But I can see how the accent music and language can easily offend people who are from that nationality but it has not broken the human rights act since they are using it as humour and not to offend .
