Advanced Course in Cytoreductive Surgery for Ovarian Cancer and Peritoneal Surface Malignancies: Radical Pelvic and Upper Abdominal Procedure with Cadaver Dissection
Purpose of the CourseThe thoroughness of cytoreductive surgery is a primary contributor to survival for patients with advanced ovarian and primary peritoneal carcinoma. This program is designed to provide information through formal lectures, panel discussions and cadaver dissection about clinical applications of advanced cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer and related gynecologic peritoneal surface malignancies.
Target AudienceThis activity is designed for physicians and surgeons who practice the specialty of gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology.
Learning ObjectivesAfter completing the learning activity, the participant should be able to:
• Describe the prognostic impact of minimal residual disease achievable through advanced cytoreductive surgical procedures.
• Discuss the advantages, limitations and indications for advanced cytoreductive surgery in gynecological practice.
• Describe the critical steps in performing advanced cytoreductive surgical procedures in gynecology.
