Radical Living Part One

12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse

you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God

on the day he visits us.

1. Be holy in all you do.

14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: "Be holy, because I am

holy."

2. Choose to live a radical life.

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as

silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of

life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious

blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

3. A radical life is a life of love.

22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply,

from the heart.

34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love

one another."

4. Use your words to build up.

1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

5. Spend time every day in His word.

2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may

grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord

is good.
