MEMBER NEWS Hi David, I’ve just received delivery of your book from Winform Publishing yesterday and I must congratulate you on a wonderful publication. I may have a couple of questions for you after I’ve studied your different strategies. But in the meantime I was just curious and wondering what the translation of the Russian caption was below your photograph on page 1. I’m guessing that it could be a dedication to someone you know. Kind regards, Joe Editor: The dedication is to David’s Wife Dear Garry, Thank you for being astute enough to make available to the mug punter the new book. Excellently put together, David certainly has thought it through. Having come up with a deal for newbies, could be an idea to do something with the other top strategy. Best Regards, Bill. Dear Garry and Tegan, I am writing to you to thank you for publishing ‘Horse Racing Australia. Anything to do with horse racing gives me a great kick, even after being involved with the punt for 65+ years. It goes a long way to helping me stay alive. Saturday has always been my racing day and still is; although I don’t attend the races anymore. I settle now for somewhere between 6-10 $20 bets on Saturdays nowadays. I just love to read anything to do with horse racing so keep up the good work with your magazine. Thank you again Neil C Stevens Garry, Well done on an excellent magazine on racing. I don’t subscribe direct due to trouble with our mail from time to time down here. I never miss an issue and wish you well in your endeavour. Good Luck. John T. 2. SPRING EDITION 2007 We are currently finalising and editing our articles for the upcoming Spring Edition of Horse Racing Australia magazine. As always we have fantastic articles to suit all our readers including the following:

• A great four page article by Tegan on the advantages and features of the GTX System Developer • Your Guide to Golf Betting • Interviews with jockeys Lisa Cropp and Craig Williams • Punt Smart with Quinellas

If you haven’t already subscribed to the magazine and would like to receive the next edition please contact the office on (02) 49501 747 or visit our website for subscription offers. 6. SURVEY RESULTS In the last edition of Horse Racing Australia magazine we had a survey for readers to complete. We have just finished analysing the response and have noted some interesting facts relating to where people bet. The total percentages reflect the fact that these days most serious punters have several betting accounts. Here are the results:

An interesting point we noted was that 6% have no accounts at all, i.e they bet at the races or TAB outlet. If you add together all the people with accounts in STAB then that is 38% . Some of those WA and Tasmanian accountholders may have accounts to participate in bet types which are unique to those areas or to bet on local races which aren't covered by the main TAB’s.

Corporate Accounts IASBet 51% Betezy 26% Sportsbet 23% Sports Acumen 18% Sportingbet 18% Centrebet 8%

TAB Accounts Unitab 35% Tabcorp NSW 29% Tabcorp VIC 29% Austote 8% WATAB 6% TAS Tote 3%

7. WILD WEATHER AT WINFORM Almost everyone would have seen or heard about the terrible storms and flooding that occurred on the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend here in Newcastle. The rain and wind caused havoc to the areas with millions of dollars worth of damage. Wallsend, our office location, was one of the worst areas hit and the streets flooded with cars washed away, shops ruined and blackouts. For only the second time in over 21 years we were unable to provide our ratings. The following pictures are from Wallsend and surrounding areas of Newcastle that were affected from the storm.

This is a storm water drain in Cardiff where over five cars ended up, found the morning after.

Above the jetty at Wangi Wangi was entirely covered by rising lake water. Below a local restaurant of Wallsend was completely ruined. And of course below left, the 44,000 tonne Pasha Bulker off Nobby’s Beach.

8. GAWLER RACE 6 On Wednesday 4th July Race 6 at Gawler had an interesting result. Our fifth rated horse won, now you may be thinking why are we talking about a horse that we didn’t think would win, but ended up winning? Well if you take a closer look at the form you would see that this horse had a good chance of winning and that sometimes if you do a little extra work you can come up with a good winner. The first image to the right will show you the Winform Ratings as seen on GTX.

Horse 2 Expectant Heir was rated fifth in our Ratings for this race. This was due to it’s 20 point penalty. In this image to the left you can note that without the penalty, this horse was our first rated horse. The penalty was applied only because of the horse’s inferior strike rate.

This is why it is important that punters take a closer look at our ratings and also that we note differences in penalties and their relation to the horse’s position in our ratings.

The reason for Expectant Heir having a 20 point penalty was that it’s strike rate was less than 10%, but on closer inspection, at this track it had 9 starts with 3 wins and 4 placings and on this course, track and distance it had 6 starts with 2 wins and 3 placings. As well as this horse’s individual results, the jockey riding it also had a good record with Expectant Heir with 4 rides for 1 win and 1 place. So even though overall the horse isn’t that great, at Gawler it has a good record and it’s chances for winning are greatly increased, especially with Price as the jockey, as seen in the snapshot from the GTX Program seen to the left. This came in handy for Garry as he was looking for a bet for the punting pool on an otherwise lousy day and he came across this

little gem and it paid $6 on Austote. 9. THE KEY TO WINNING CONSISTENTLY The Key To Winning Consistently, like most methods has struggled through the wet weather in May and June but still found some excellent results, as you can see in the tables below.
