http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Julie-Faulkner About this resource: This strategy has been tried and tested and tweaked inside my own classroom for a few years now. This self-regulated strategy and mnemonic device would be great for short answer, constructed response, and paragraph writing. Once students have been familiarized with this process, it can even be adapted into a full essay. Contents: • Graphic organizer: This can be used with any paragraph that you will require students to write. It

can also be easily expanded to a full essay. • Sample annotated paragraph • Classroom Posters: Hang in your room or print a copy of each student’s notebook. Thank You I have taught English and journalism for over a decade. I have experience at the middle school, high school, and college level. Rural and suburban. Regular, honors, and inclusion. I also teach Prek-k in Children's Church and have taught K-2 in Awanas. I have worked as a CCSS ELA training specialist. I have a M.A. in English and an Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership. I’ve been a Common Core Coach for the state of TN, and have presented at numerous conferences, workshops, and trainings on various best teaching practices. Additionally, I have several articles published in national teaching journals. To me, my job is about teaching students to see, make, and appreciate real-world connections. The world around them is full of opportunity, and I want them to notice that and seize it. I want them not to just swallow information, but rather truly dissect and digest it to make informed decisions and choices. My teaching style is engaging, student-centered, collaborative, hands-on, critical-thinking inducing, fun, innovative, and standards-driven. I would love for you to FOLLOW MY STORE so you’ll be notified when I add new items.
