Pay your dues, make a donation or find out what you can sponsor at www.westerncoloradowriters.org. What exactly is flash fiction? Is it different than prose poetry? What makes flash fiction effective? How do you do it? Explore flash fiction in a two hour workshop with TJ Ger- lach, a CMU writer whose published fiction favors flash. The program will include exer- cises and participant-generated writing focusing specifically on the craft of appropriation as it relates to flash fiction. TJ Gerlach, PhD, received his MA from the University of Utah and went on to earn his PhD from the University of Denver. His academic interests in- clude writing, narrative theory, Modernism, Postmodernism and the history of the novel. "Stone, Sky, Water, and other Mentors" Dulce Bell-Bulley is a transpersonal counselor, Alchemical Hypnotherapist, Radical Living practitioner and writer. She was born in Africa and was raised in the bush where she developed a deep love and respect for the natural world including the night sky. Barbara Ford author of Once Familiar is a poet, performer and radio host from Poncha Springs. Barbara is the longtime producer and host of Poets and Min- strels, which airs on KHEN weekly in Salida. Her work has been published in magazines, journals and anthologies. Danny Rosen, author of Primate Poems and Ghosts of Giant Kudo is an astronomer, geologist, stone sculptor, disciple of the trilobite Jesus, and founder and operator of Lithic Press & Books in Fruita Colorado. Nancee Bussee, a multimedia artist living in Grand Junction, has illustrated more than 20 Children’s books. She shows nationally and her paintings can be found in corporate, institutional and private collections throughout the U.S. With musical guest opening and closing the evening Jared Shaw THESE EVENTS SUPPORTED BY COMMISSION ON ARTS & CULTURE COMMISSION ON Writing Out Loud - Get your one act plays, poems and and short fiction ready. An open Board meeting convened onApril 11, 2018, in the CFI Solarium withmembers Joe Skinner, Virginia Jensen,Linda Skinner and Joe Wilcox.

Expenditures were approved for RabbitHoles, Write Out Loud, the Library Writ-ers Nights and the Claire Blotter work-shops.

The Board met with the web page devel-oper and discussed the many facets ofthe design layout and information struc-ture of WCWF’s new web site. Changeswill be made and sent in for approval.
