This specification gives the modalities, the general information, the reference Codes and Standards that are applicable for the prefabrication of piping steel supports for the plants which are competence of Business Unit Onshore of Saipem S.p.A...

The prefabrication may be carried out either with or without the materials supply; in this case the materials will be supplied to the Manufacturer following the modalities indicated in the prefabrication activities order.

    1.2. Units of Measurement

1.2.1. The units of measurement indicated in the documents issued for the activities in question are normally those specified in the Project Specifications.

1.2.2. If these documents do not prescribe any unit of measurement, the applicable Standard in compliance with international standardisation (SI) issued in the country where the project is to be implemented shall be used.

4 CHARACTERISTICS OF SUPPORTS TO BE PREFABRICATED

All the supports listed in the document List of supports prefabrication, issued for the project, are to be prefabricated, with the exception of the support types indicated in the next chapter if not otherwise indicated in the purchase order. In the above said document the standard and special supports are listed with the related base materials and the required quantity for each type, indicated in accordance with the reference dimensional codes.

The construction will be carried out by utilising the construction drawings supplied as: - standards STD.TP.SUP.5921/5925 for the standard supports, following the Notes for the

fabrication of piping supports - construction drawings for special supports - construction drawings of supports standardised according to the project standard In case of differences between the general notes contained in the standards and the supports construction drawings, the last will prevail.

4.1 Types of supports not to be prefabricated

Even if present and listed in the document List of supports prefabrication the following types of supports are to be considered not included in the prefabrication and supply scope: spring supports hydraulic shock absorbers supports for cryogenic piping PTFE or lubricated bronze plates expansion bolts for standard and special supports elements

4.2 Identification of semi manufactured elements forming the supports

The standard supports are made of semi manufactured elements, which are identified by one of the following symbols followed by the sequential number.

Symbol Support type ST Semi manufactured element connected to the piping SM Intermediate semi manufactured element SF Semi manufactured element not connected to the piping SS Protection plate P Post, portal and bracket, connection for C.A. (reinforced concrete) beam

The special supports are identified by the symbol SPS followed by the functional code and by the sequential number.

    4.3 Identification of pipe sizes

The nominal pipe sizes (NPS) are identified with their value for the whole diameters (e.g. 2-3 etc.) and are identified with the following codes for the intermediate diameters:

    NPS 1/2" 3/4" 1-1/2" 2-1/2"

    Identifying code

    M 3Q 1M 2M

    4.4 Mass of supports

The values of mass of prefabricated supports, to be utilised for the several activities of management, control and progress, are the values indicated in the document List of supports for prefabrication.

    4.5 Bolted type supports

All semi manufactured elements of bolted type supports will be supplied assembled, without accompanying of loose bolts and nuts, in order to avoid losses and incorrect coupling during erection. All bolts (for tightening, of hangers, etc.) shall be fastened to the supports they belong to (clamps, tie-rods, etc.) to avoid losses and incorrect coupling during erection.

    4.6 Utilisation of substitutive shapes

It is permitted the utilisation of half cut IPE-200 or IPE-120 shapes in place of shapes T-100 or T-60 for the prefabrication of supports type: ST-05, ST-06, ST-09, ST-10, ST-39, ST-66.

On each support and prefabricated semi manufactured elements the relevant marking will be applied, through painting or punching. The marking is depending on the support type, according to the following examples. Example of marking of semi manufactured support elements of type ST, SM, SF, SS ST-17 2-6 5Cr ST-42 20-24 SM-21 20-24 SF-26 20-24 SS-03 20-24 1Cr where:

    Sheet 9 (9)

The semi manufactured elements type ST, SM, SF, SS having small dimensions and mass < 1 Kg, for which it is difficult the marking due to the small dimensions, will be grouped together in disposable containers and the last will be marked as indicated in the previous chapter.

    4.8 Painting and protection

4.8.1 Protection painting All supports and prefabricated semi manufactured elements in carbon and alloy steel will be protected by means of a cycle of blasting and priming coat, in accordance with the indications of Painting Specification issued for the project. Furthermore the supports for which assembly welds are not foreseen (e.g. clamped type supports), based on standards STD.TP.SUP.5920/5925 or similar issued for the project, will be also painted with the finishing coats in accordance with the project Painting Specification.

4.8.2 Threading protection All the threaded parts will be protected from oxidation with mineral grease or similar material.

5 CONTROLS ON SUPPORTS AND PREFABRICATED SEMIMANUFACTURED ELEMENTS

    4.9 Controls to be executed

The dimensions control of any supports as well as the visual control of welding and of constructed quantities will be performed and certified at Manufacturers care. Company has the right to witness these controls according to the modalities indicated in the purchase order.

    4.10 Non-conformities

Any non-conformity as concerns the effective compliance of the supply with this specification and the List of supports prefabrication shall be dealt as stated in the purchase order.

    6 DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

Manufacturer shall supply the certificates of the utilised materials to confirm their compliance with the codes indicated in previous section 3.
