“You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it's your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you've let sin tell you what to do. But thank God you've started listening to a new master, one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!”

If you look around the world today it is easy to see that the world is moving steadily away from the

purposes and plans of God. So many people are living every single day in captivity to the enemy. They are captivated by sin, captivated by the lies of the enemy about their life and about their future, captivated by things of this world, captivated by wounds of the heart that the enemy has told them will never go away and will always be a part of their lives, captivated by struggles of their mind and thoughts of depression and suicide, captivated by relationships they can’t get out of, captivated by practices and habits they can’t stop.

Today is the day to say goodbye to captivity! Think of the thing you are struggling most with right now and by faith say goodbye to it! Where the enemy has cornered you in life and caused a blindness to come

over you, God wants to break every prison lock and the powers of darkness that have governed our lives for

far too long. If Jesus Christ lives in your heart, there

is freedom and liberty and healing already inside you! You never have to be held captive to any circumstance or situation. In the midst of all that is going on around you, you can walk in the freedom that can’t be found in the natural.

The enemy often tells us that we can’t break free. He whispers to us that we’ve tried so long and what makes us think that freedom will come now? But a resolution can come into your heart in the midst of your darkest hour. You may be the only Christian in your family, the only Christian on your team, in your school, in your neighborhood, at your job. It may seem

that EVERYONE is going one way, but you

can stand in the power of God and say “I’m not going with the crowd. I’m not going that way.” The word of

God can help you overcome every obstacle set in your path. Whether it’s an image of yourself, whether it’s something that someone has spoken over your life, whether it’s a wrong perception of who you are in

Christ, when God’s word is in you He will give you

the power to overcome. With God you can defeat every enemy in life that tells you that you can’t do something, every lie that says freedom is for somebody else and not you.

Stop trusting in your flesh. Stop trying to reason

everything. Instead, believe what God has spoken to

you and get up and start walking towards your freedom.

Start walking to what God has destined your life to be!

Have the attitude that live or die you will not be governed by the forces of darkness or the lies of the enemy that once held you back from becoming what

God has called you to be!Your captivity can be taken captive by the glory of

God! Once you believe that God wants to set you free, begin to walk in in. You will soon see that everything that once pursued you, everything that said it had a stronghold over you, everything that boasted of captivating you, every torment of your mind, every prison door, every bruise that said your heart is always going to hurt, every spirit that said it won’t let go, every lie the enemy threw in your face to try and stop you from seeing the victory of Christ will be broken in

Jesus name!Just take the first step in your freedom and the Lord

will part the Red Sea of your life before you and He will drown your enemies behind you! Believe the Word

of God and receive it as your own!

We are revolutionaries. I

don’t say that simply because the name of our youth group is Revolution. As Christians, we are not only called to be revolutionaries, but we follow the greatest revolutionary in Jesus.

We come from a long line of revolutionaries. Think about it: Jesus is not even close to what you would consider “normal” (What the heck is “normal” anyways, and who comes up with the

“normal” standards?). How about our good buddy John the Baptist? This crazy guy lived in the desert, wore camel hair clothes, and ate locusts. He was out there.

So then, what is this revolution of ours as Christians? What makes it different than all the revolutions that have done nothing to change the world for the better? One word: love. It is my humble opinion that it is no coincidence that you can’t spell revolution without the word love. Without love, no revolution can succeed, especially ours.

We should be like a full cup of water. When you try to pour more in, it begins to overflow. That is the love we have in Jesus. We can’t help spilling the love that God has poured in to us on to everyone we come into contact with.

It seems to be a problem that the word revolutionary conjures up images of “great” men and women. People who have done larger than life deeds. It almost seems unattainable to be like them. Yet, this is so far from the truth.

Revolutionaries are, in their most basic definition, agents of change. That is exactly what we are to be as Christians. We live this new life that

God has given us, and seek to change the world and people who live in it. I find it of importance to mention again that any revolution not grounded in love is futile. In fact, a revolution not based in love is destructive.

I say this again because we can’t seek to force change upon this world, but rather we need to show the world that another way is possible. It is through our actions, our daily lifestyle, and our words that we lead this world to God. Mother Teresa put it this way: “We can do no great things. Only small things with great love.” That is our call. While some may do “great” things, all of us can do these small things.

Our small acts of love grab the attention of those who don’t know God. These little acts of love are our door to the hearts of the lost. They wonder why we would do something so seemingly outlandish, and so they open that door to look at what is different about us. These deeds simply show

the God, and His love, that lives inside each of us.That is what will fuel this revolution. God’s fiery

love, this love that consumes us. Like fire, our love must seek to consume more, otherwise it will burn out. His love for us changed our lives, and instills in us a desire for others to experience the same. The love God placed in our hearts for others will never be satisfied, nor should it be. Until every last person knows God, our hearts must burn and ache for the lost. Our hearts must cry out that all people may come to know the hope we have in Jesus.

Let God truly reign over you.

Let His Spirit show you little ways to touch people’s hearts. When people ask what the reason for your hope is, be ready to give them an answer. Don’t hold back in the love He has given you. Know that you don’t do it alone. We do this together. We do it with God.

"Let me tell you what's going on here: No one in history surpasses John the Baptizer; but in the kingdom he prepared you for, the lowliest person is ahead of him. For a long time now people have tried to force themselves into God's kingdom. But if you read the books of the Prophets and God's Law closely, you will see them culminate in John, teaming up with him in preparing the way for the Messiah of the kingdom. Looked at in this way, John is the 'Elijah' you've all been expecting to arrive and introduce the Messiah.”

Do you realize the potential and the purpose that God has placed in you? Whenever I read this scripture, something inside me jumps. But, what is it that I love so much about it?

I came upon this scripture when I was in a very challenging, trying time in my life.  I was in the process of making a huge choice in my life. I was planning to move  away. Within that same week, three different people shared this scripture with me.

I didn’t understand why this kept coming up. It became a frustration to me. In my mind I had made my decision to move and not even God would be able to stop me. I was looking for God’s blessing, not necessarily His will.

But something in my heart just wouldn’t let go…and here is what I believe He was trying to show me:

I had made poor choices and I was running. Running from Him? No! Running from having to face the mess I had gotten myself into. I was neck deep in a relationship I didn’t want anymore. My choices left me feeling used and unworthy.

I’ve always wanted to be used by God,  but I thought I  ruined my chance already. However, in Phil 1:6, He showed me that He wasn’t done with me yet! And He still isn’t!!!

He has shown me that He loves the process that I have to go through with Him.  Every time I want to grow closer to Him, I have to work hard to get to the next level with Him.  It’s

like that with anything,  if I want to be better at a sport, I have to work  harder to be able to play at the next level. It’s like that with God too, if you expect to have a one level relationship with God, your mistaken!

God’s love has many levels. Your life will have many seasons. But He is faithful to complete His work in you! But you have to stand your ground and you have to fight to go higher! You have to trust in His faithfulness! Hold fast as the scripture says, because  He is “perfecting you”.

He once spoke to my heart and said, “I enjoy the seasons in which we go through together…when you feel a little distant it challenges you to search for me even more, in a new and intimate way. Only I can give you what you are looking for.”  He loves when we come to Him and  He loves going through our life with us!

Needless to say, I didn’t go. He never once condemned me for my poor choices… He just kept reminding me that in time and process, He will keep perfecting me!

We always seem to think that

the people who are “enviable” are the people who have it all, who’ve seen it all, and who’ve done everything there is to do. Who really determines what’s worthwhile, though?

The stuff is not important, you can find pictures and video tours of other countries on the internet, and skydiving, whitewater rafting, and monster truck stunts really aren’t any better than what the so-called

“average” person can experience through Christ.

Who we should look up to, who should be our role models, are the ones who have the love, forgiveness, and glory of God, who’ve seen what He can do in the life of a person so undeserving. We should follow those people who have (from a point on) not always, but consistently lived for God and have done everything in His power to further the kingdom and encourage others to do the same.

That, my friends, is a true role model, man/woman after God’s own heart, and a life that’s truly worth living.
