THINGS THAT I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD

I am pleased to announce today, in keeping with the parish goal of the One Faith One Hope One Love Campaign that was undertaken last fall and completed successfully, as well as in response to a critical pastoral and ministerial need at St. Antoninus with respect to our ministry to youth and young adults, the parish is bringing onto our staff a Youth Minister and Director of Communication and Public Relations.

Lauren Ulmer, a daughter of our parish, who is graduated from Xavier University this year with a major in communications and public relations and a minor in theology will be an excellent addition to our staff here at the parish, and will be building a viable youth ministry for the parish that will engage our youth and young adults, helping them to grow in their faith, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. This is no small task, and a critical need. At the same time, Lauren will also utilize her knowledge and degree in communications to help the parish reach out and evangelize through social media, the internet, our website, and in other ways to help St. Antoninus better reach people to bring Jesus' message of salvation to many souls. Lauren starts June 6th.

I am grateful to Our Lord for bringing this great opportunity to St. Antoninus parish, and for continuing to bless all of us with wonderfully dedicated and intentional disciples of the Lord Jesus who will bring the new evangelization in our parish to life.

Take Good Care, Fr. Bryan, Pastor

Our parish is growing! We are repurposing the "Brides' Room" space located in the Greeting Room area for small groups (8-10 people) to gather comfortably and have online access to FORMED and other media resources. Not only will bridal parties continue to use this space, other parish ministries such as Children's Liturgy of the Word, Bereavement, RCIA, New Evangelization, Adult Faith Formation, Bible Study and Baptism Preparation are encouraged to book this space for their meetings beginning

July 1. Please call the Parish Office at 922-5400 (Beth Bollin, extension 2) for more details. A special acknowledgement and heartfelt thank you to the late Mary Lou Smith, mother of parishioners Dennis and Mary Smith, whose family had the foresight to construct the "Brides' Room" as a gift to our parish. Their plaque (see picture) will be rehung in the Fr. Mick Small Group Gathering Space when construction has been completed.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY As we celebrate the mystery of the Trinity we also realize the mystery of how much God loves and cares for us each day. Believing in this, our lives can then overflow in thanksgiving and praise. Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call a St. Antoninus volunteer of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at (513) 332-4600 so that, together, we can help those who are suffering.

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP May is a month in which we traditionally honor Mary. Throughout May, we will honor her by reflecting each week on some of the many titles of Our Lady contained in the Litany of Loreto. We will also pray a Rosary for the needs of our country, especially for the upcoming elections, asking Mary’s intercession as patroness of our country. All are welcome to join us in the Chapel on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30PM.

The summer St. Antoninus Athletic Club festival is fast approaching, June 10, 11 & 12th , and we need many, many volunteers to make this a successful year. This event is

the Athletic Club’s major fundraiser, and we are asking for your participation. The benefits from this major fundraiser help offset various expenses facing the Athletic Club. How can you help? Could you work Friday or Saturday or Sunday? Would you like to work or chair a booth, donate a cake or dessert for the cake booth? Help with the Bid-N-Buy or clean-up and set-up? If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Jill McDonald ([email protected]) or Pam Faeth ([email protected]) for more information. We are appreciative of all those volunteering to make the festival a success. THANK YOU!!!

Lila Rose is the president of Live Action, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending abortion and building a culture of life through new media. Although she is only in her early 20s, she is a regular guest on The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity, and

several other TV programs. In this talk, Lila describes her daring undercover investigations into America's most notorious abortion facilities, shedding light on the greatest human rights abuses of our time.

BUILDINGS & GROUNDS REPORT Our last meeting was held on Monday, May 9th. At the meeting, Phase1 of the parish/school security project was discussed. Fr. Bryan expressed some concerns about the overall cost of the project and asked for the committee’s input/opinions. Father is in the process of deciding the appropriateness of the various components of the project, especially as it relates to cost. The “Spring Clean Up” was held on Saturday, April 23. Thanks to all who participated! The committee discussed recruiting a Cleanup Coordinator to organize and promote next school year’s two cleanup days. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Mike Simonson at 922-2500 ext. 2028. On a similar note, there are areas of the campus that still need attention. Our next meeting is Monday, June 13, at 6:30PM, in the school conference room.

For more information, please leave a message on the Network of Care Phone Line at 922-5400 ext. 8, and someone will return your call.
