In our present era the minds of countless thousands are directed toward the study of Metaphysics and the Occult.As a result there has arisen a hor4e—aiL— — teachers, so-called, who play upon the credulity of the ignorant, calling them­selves masters, or agents of masters.Most of these are unlearned in even the fundamentals of occult science, but us­ing a knowledge of the psychology of the mass, have imposed a vast amount of false information and doctrines on those eager to learn how to regulate their lives in accordance with Divine Law.

Knowing the human weakness, the de­sire to get something for nothing, they promise wonderfull powers and contact with great masters, if the student will submit his will and mind to the self- styled agent of the master. Such sur­render of will places the student in a perfect state for mass-hypnosis, which is then induced by long repetition and chanting of meaningless affirmations and decrees.

They are told that if they will only

concentrate on the higher self it will manifest in their physical bodies and all things will be theirs, by only command­ing, or decreeing it to appear. This is tommy rot, a playing on human desire and weakness. Neither in the material or Spiritual realms do we get something for nothing.

God manifests in man according to one great fundamental Law, the Law of Cause and Effect. !iAs ye sow, so shall ye reap," and sowing consists of more than desiring or concentrating. "By their works shall ye know them," is true in the spiritual realm as in the mate­rial.

Dr. Lyle Whitby gave the Avatar Message Sunday evening. This inspiring message was taped and trill be in the mail to the many Avatar Members about the 15th or 16th of May.

Our weather has been cool and rainy. The fruit trees are beginning to bloom and the lilacs are almost in bloom. As usual this time of year, we happily wel­come the carefree days of summer, after the long months of xrinter.

We are announcing a new department in our magazine 'Light on the Path’. Be­ginning with the June issue, there will be a section devoted to children. It will be known as the Children's Page and as often as possible we will have a spe­cial metaphysical lesson or story for children. The Lesson this month is taken from the first lesson in the Junior Tem­ple Lessons. It is on "Oneness” written by Sesheta.

Many magazine subscribers have sug­gested that we have a question and anr swer department in our magazine, We agree that this would be an asset to the Magazine, and hope that eventually this can be worked out. We surely always wel­come suggestions from Brotherhood Stu­dents and Magazine Subscribers also. We

are always happy to receive poems and arti­cles for publication, Will some of you help us with the Children:s £age by supply­ing suitable lessons and stories?

Let us remember the teachings of the Wise Men, that we grow by expressing. We make Truth a part of ourselves when we ex­press it in living words of inspiration and wisdom. Thoughts and words are really in­tangible forms that have substance. They can be discerned by the opened Inner Eye.

It has been said that eventually we will discard oral speech and will communi­cate entirely through the thought medium.It has also been said that there is nothing secret or hidden because every thought, every word, every action of every individual is indelibly inpressed and recorded. These records are always available and may be read. Again it has been said that our words and deeds go out from us but eventually they come back and we reap their harvest.
