• Quotation marks are used to let the reader know when someone is speaking in a book

Rules For Using Quotation Marks

• They only go around what the person is saying

• You have to put them at the beginning and at the end of what was said

• You need to note afterwards who said it

• Use a comma, period, question mark, or exclamation mark before the last quotation mark
