Zebastian LandmarkSNOWBOARDER
Quiksilver is upgrading and what looks at a first glimpse like a bad gangstar flick is the
sponsor deal to welcome Zebastian Landmark to their Swedish national team. The 20-year old
regular rider rode a couple of FIS events in the past and also joined this year’s BEOs. Zebastian
comes from Leksand and rides for Libtech, 32 and Union bindings and even starred in a teen movie
back in 2003. Teen flicks aren’t really his thing, so he decided to film this season with the Random
Bastards for their Tentacle movie!

BOARDRIDERS 162CAMPUS
The New Boardriders 162 Campus has just opened their doors few weeks ago. It's one of the most beautyfull baordrider that we have the chance to have in europe. What says Frédéric T. surfer from Lafitenia…
Today is perfect, the conditions are great and I’m on my way to surf Lafitenia in St Jean de Luz…Apparently the tide will be too high and it’ll be better in an hour. So we are cruising around the area and take a quick turn off. There in front of me is the new Quiksilver, Roxy, DC and Moskova store. Oh yeah they made it big. We have plenty of time to check out the shop, besides I’m out of wax! Between the sea and the mountains, the store stands before me representing all the brands, like a University campus, where all nationalities gather and everyone looks good. I want to live here !!On entering the store, I discover a huge space of 750 m2, predominantly black, split by an impressive gold staircase, which accesses the large mezzanine level, and is enclosed by iron railings in the same tone. The range of boards is insane; no less than 200 boards are available. A ceiling conveyor belt displays the selection of extra special boards... they all belonged to pro team surfers and are available for sale! This conveyer belt is connected to a digital terminal embedded in an old surveyors table that allows you to virtually see theboards more closely. You can see to whom they belonged, know their history and their characteristics. I spotted one, I just type its number 9... it’s a board shaped for Jeremy Flores... wow, nothing better than that! After half an hour, I still haven’t budged! I have read about them all… Kelly Slater, Mick fanning, Craig Anderson, Tiago Pires… dreaming having read all the stories linked to these boards… eventually I make my choice; it will be number 47, Kelly Slater’s board. I won’t get a 12th title but I know that with this board I can’t help butsurf better! All around me are a huge range of technical products but also an incredible array of clothes by Quiksilver and Quiksilver Woman, Roxy, DC Shoes and Moskova… it’s clear that I need a new look! I start with boardshorts, because I did originally come for a surf! Quiksilver have thought of everything. You can choose from the collectionor create your own thanks to a customisation terminal that allows you to build your boardshorts from A to Z accor-ding to what you like and want. The shorts are then made by hand by the in-house designers who are on the same floor of the shop. The further I explore the shop, the more I realize this is like nothing I have seen before… a lounge area with comfor-table armchairs and free to use computers, a library and, above all, a Basque bar open all day, with local delicacy hams hanging from the ceiling, local products and a wonderful wine menu… I can already see myself: aplate of Spanish ham, a great glass of Rioja, sitting on the terrace with my mates after a fun surfing session! In addition, on Fridays there are also free live concerts! One thing is certain, where the shop most differs from others is through its focus on creativity. Fred, Quiksilver’s Creative Director, explains to me that art exhibitions will be organized every month, that everyone can participate in fashion design or customize a surfboard in the presence of Quiksilver designers… I am not very talented inthat department but for those who have an artistic soul, this is an amazing opportunity. For them, this is more than just a shop; this is a veritable laboratory, testing and previewing their innovations in design, marketing and merchan-dising… when I see the brand’s stylists, I think I would rather be a guinea pig!Boardshorts, a board, a block of wax, a café and the number of the cute sale’s assistant later, I finally decide to leave the store… direction Lafitenia… having decided to bring my mates to this amazing discovery.
