2� ImageInstallationThissectionexplainsthesetuprequirementsforbootingfromaMicroSDcardortheSPIROMandeMMC.

TheprecompiledU-bootandimageareprovidedinthe“Firmware”folder.

2�1 BootingfromaMicroSDCardThefirststepistoinstallthisimageontoaMicroSDcard.InsertaMicroSDcardintoyourLinuxhostmachineandmakesureitisnotmounted.InstalltheSDcardimageontotheMicroSDcardwiththecommandsbelow,replacing<devicename>withthecorrectvalueforthecard.

*Important: Makesureyouarewritingtothecorrectdeviceorthehostsystemenvironmentcouldbedamaged�

Next,ontheVIAAMOS-825,setthebootswitchtotheMicroSDpositionasshownbelow.

InsertthepreparedMicroSDcardintotheVIAAMOS-825,connectthespecifiedtouchmonitor,andpowerontheVIAAMOS-825toinitiatethebootprocess.

Whenthebootprocessiscompleted,youwillseetheOpenEmbeddeddesktop.

ThefirststepistopreparetheMicroSDcardwiththedefaultimagestoredonit,accordingtosection2.1.Next,copytheu-boot.imx and via-image-gui-imx6qamos825.sdcardfilesfromtheFirmwarefolderontoamassstoragedevicesuchasaUSBthumbdrive.MakesurethebootselectorissettoMicroSDboottheninserttheMicroSDcardandtheUSBthumbdriveintotheVIAAMOS-825.

Next,ontheVIAAMOS-825,setthebootswitchtotheMicroSDpositionasshownbelow.

3�1 SettingUpU-BootParametersWhensettinguptheU-Bootparameters,thefirststepistoconnectthehostmachineandtheVIAAMOS-825throughtheCOMport.UseaserialportcommunicationprogramsuchasPuTTY,GtkTerm,orMinicomtoconfiguretheserialportsettingandconnecttothedebugconsole.ThereyouwillbeabletoseetheU-BootbootlogandadjustsettingsintheU-Bootconsole.
