• Quick routes – 1 cut• Quick reads – 1 side / 1 defender• Quickly getting the ball into the

hands of our athletes

Scheme

• Mirrored routes (both sides are doing the same thing)

• Puts 2 plays in one players zone of defense.• Used to force the defense to change its plan

and stretch their responsibilities.

Footwork / Coaching Points

• Shotgun– 1 step drop– Catch and Throw

• Right Footwork Shown– Rt foot perpendicular to

target (behind Lt foot)– Left foot steps 6 inches

outside the target– Must turn shoulders to get

power on the throw!

Pre-Snap Read

• Choose best side to attack.• This choice should be based on:– Best matchup– Best leverage

• Don’t over think it. Attack.

Post-Snap Reads

• Single defensive player read• Inside out: – Used to attack the outside linebacker (Dog)– Forces the dog to choose between two players in

his flat or curl zones.– Used in the Slants, Hitches, Bend passes

• 3rd Receivers are man options to attack good matchups

Post-Snap Reads

• Single defensive player read• High low:– Used to attack a corner forcing him to cover two

players in his sideline zone.– Used in the Fade

• 3rd receiver runs control routes to help vs. man coverage

Dog Read: Stressing the OLB (red)
