    Installation Precautions

CCTV equipment must be installed by an experienced service engineer.

Install the camera at a location that can support more than 4 times the total weightof the equipment.

Install the camera at a location free from mechanical vibration. When installing at alocation subject to mechanical vibration, be sure to install anti-vibration measuresbefore putting the camera in position.

    1. Protection Against Lightning Strikes

For outdoor installations, a lightning rod must be installed above the camera toprotect it from lightning strikes.

To avoid interference and prevent damage due to current surges, the camera'sgrounding conductor must be separate from the lightning arrester's ground andhigh-voltage ground.

    Caution

Lightning generates great amounts of energy so that lightning rods cannot guarantee totalprotection for the camera.

When installing a lightning rod, make sure that protection angle and minimum distance (2m)between the lightning rod and the camera are properly implemented.

    2. Waterproof Installation

Precautions for waterproofing when installing the camera on the wall with acombination of OUTDOOR HOUSING and WALL MOUNT ADAPTOR.

Install the WALL MOUNT on a vertical wall. Installation on a tilt wall may cause inflow of

moisture into the OUTDOOR HOUSING through the external cables.

Apply the sufficient TEFLON TAPE to the screws (1.5 NPT) present in the HOUSING BODY.

Connect the external cables through the BUSH to the HOUSING BODY.

(For more information about the connection, refer to the user manual of the OUTDOOR

    HOUSING.)

When mounting the COVER DOME onto the HOUSING BODY, note that you should not

let the GASKET DOME loose from the COVER DOME. Also keep in mind that the O-RING

for each SCREW (x3) should not be loose from the SCREW while fixing the SCREW.

For waterproofing purposes, after inserting the WALL MOUNT ADAPTOR, apply the

SILICON SEALANT between the wall and WALL MOUNT, and around the borders.

(Pay special attention to the sealing when installing on an irregular surface.)

    Communication Cable

Cable requirements for RS-485 communication are as follows:- Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) Cable- Low Impedance

    - Gauge greater than AWG #22 (0.33mm

    2

    )

    6. Communication Setup

    Camera Address Setup

Use SW606, SW605, and SW604 to specify the camera address. You can specify between 0 and 255 for the address, where the hundreds digit iswith SW606, the tens digit with SW605, and the ones digit with SW604.ex) Camera address: If the address is 1, follow the steps in the figure below.

The factory default is 9600 BPS.

    Caution

The above PIN setting is available only for Samsung protocols.

    Termination

If a number of cameras are connected in a daisy chain* configuration as shown inthe connection diagrams below, the last camera must be RS-485 terminated byusing Rx and Tx. (*Daisy Chain: A daisy chain is a means of connecting a number ofdevices to each other in series. For example, Camera 1 is connected to Camera 2,and Camera 2 is connected to Camera 3, and so on.)

    RS-422A/RS485 Full Duplex ON ON

    Connection Diagrams

Although you can connect up to 128 cameras, connecting less than 32 camerasensures the best communication environment.

A communication error may occur if you connect multiple cameras that are assignedthe same address in the network.
