NOVEMBER ~ THE MONTH OF ALL SOULS Throughout the month of November we remember those who have died and pray

that they might share in the peace and joy of the Resurrection.

REMEMBRANCE ALCOVES ST. ELIZABETH

We remember our deceased family members and friends by writing their names in our Book of the Names of the Dead and placing their pictures on the wall in St. Elizabeth Alcove. Please print your loved one’s name on the back of the pic-ture before placing it on the wall. After November 30, you may either leave the picture with us to keep for next year or pick it up after Mass.

ST. ISIDORE

The remembrance Alcove will be set up for the month of November with the book of Names to honor and pray for friends and family who have died. You are invited to share a photo of your loved one at any time during the month in the remembrance alcove. Please write your loved one’s name on the back so we may return the photo to you at the end of the month or, if you wish we can keep the photo for next year.

During this month, please make time to stop and read the names in the Book, look at the pictures in the

Alcove, and say a prayer for those who have gone before us in faith.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ; As I walked into Home Depot last week to pick up some items there it was! I did not think I would have seen it yet. I had to take a “double” look and then another look to make sure my eyes were seeing what I saw. My eyes were telling me the truth – CHRISTMAS TREES EVERYWHERE (the artificial trees that look so real). And not only Christmas trees but the lights, the ribbons and everything else. And then it hit me. Yes, seven and half week’s from now it is Christmas. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the Advent and Christmas seasons so there is a part of me that is getting excited. Yet, I pondered the question, “How did it arrive so fast?” As we all prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and the Advent & Christmas seasons, I want to share with all of you the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mass schedule for our collaborative. In discussions with the staff and knowing that we have just one priest, we came up with this Christmas Mass Schedule.

The following day, Wednesday December 26, there will be NO Morning Mass at St. Elizabeth. This is the day I will be traveling to Connecticut to visit my family and celebrate Christmas with them. As we prepare for Advent and Christmas, a very busy time of the year for all of us, let us not lose sight of the true meaning of both seasons – “The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord.”’ (Luke 2:10-11) ¹ – Mass will be live-streamed in the church hall with additional seating for 300. There will be a cantor present to lead the music and

sung responses and when it comes time for communion, we will have Eucharistic Ministers come to the church hall to distribute commun-

ion to everyone in the hall.

God Bless You, Fr. Jeff

KIDS HEALTHY MINDS INITIATIVE Education Session

November 28, 7:00—8:00 p.m. St. Isidore Church Hall

The prevalence of youth mental illness is staggering. Sadly we have witnessed the devastating effects in our own communi-ties. 20% of our children and adolescents hold a mental health diagnosis nationwide

according to the CDC. Failure to detect and treat mental illness early can have a significant impact on a child’s po-tential and success later in life. The Kids Healthy Minds Initiative (KHM) is an innovative mental health aware-ness and community education program offered across the Archdiocese of Boston in partnership with Franciscan Children’s.

Parishoners and community members who participate in a KHM education session will gain an understanding of the early warning signs of mental illness, common youth diagnoses and the barriers of stigma impacting our families.

Please join our faith community to learn about this crucial initiative and what steps we can take together to support youth and families who suffer from mental illness. Your attendance at this one session can make a tremendous dif-ference! For any questions regarding the program please

MINISTRY SHOWCASE November showcase is rescheduled to

January 12/13 2019!

Periodically it is helpful to showcase all parish minis-tries. This helps to let everyone know what ministries are available and is also a time to invite new participa-tion. The Ministry Showcase originally scheduled for November 17/18 has been postponed to January. We plan and offer a collaborative wide Ministry Show-case after all Masses on the weekend of January 12/13. We will be seeking help from ministry participants to showcase their ministries as well as a small team of 2-4 people to help coordinate the details to make this possi-ble (which involves communicating with ministries and organizing the set up and presentation in each of the Church halls). Please contact Diahne Goodwin for more information or if you can help, [email protected].
