For our preliminary task we put a ‘Working Title’ logo at the beginning of it. Obviously, we later realised that this is just completely unrealistic, as even though Working Title would be small budget, ours would be tiny.

QUESTION 3

Our film would likely be distributed by an independent production company. We researched different production companies, such as Chocolate films, Coffee films, Norfilms etc. We then worked out which ones would be relevant or realistic for us.

However, these companies didn’t fit with our criteria.

Examples of an independent British horror films are Shrooms, Outcast, Wake Wood, The Children, which were produced by Vertigo Films. This is an independent British film company. However, our company would be smaller then this, with a smaller budget, as this is well known, and has produced many big budget films.

Another example of a production company is Metrodome films, which has released films such as Bride of Chucky.

In the end, we decided to use ‘our own’ production company. We created a logo for Bruce Films. This would distribute independent films by small filmmakers. As the budget would be small for a new, independent production company, we knew that our film would have to be low cost. Although there are aliens, we decided they wouldn’t be seen until late on in the film, as it’s the mystery that drives it. We would have to use clever make up and costumes and use of set in order to cut corners and lower the budget. Our film would probably not be widely shown on cinema screens, if at all, due to the small budget
