Protagonist

The gender of this character is male. This is a convention from real media texts as the majority of protagonists are male. This conveys patriarchy and dominance of the male character.

From the way that the character dresses, it shows that he is of a middle class background. The props used such as the Canon camera and IPhone portray signs of wealth and comfortability. The age of this character is early 20’s opposing the fact that the majority of leading male characters are in their mature years.

The ethnicity of this character is Black/African. This subverts the idea of the leading character being a white male however, this also encourages the stereotype of Black/African characters being into crime.
