LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE PROGRESSION IT TO

THE FULL PRODUCT?

What have I learnt?

After receiving feedback from my Preliminary project, I knew I would have to put in a lot

more thought in many different key areas of my Production. Filming the Preliminary helped me learn that I needed to improve on 3 areas

of my production in order to create a good final piece.

These 3 things are…◘ Editing

◘ Location◘ Sound

EditingAfter filming our preliminary project, we used

Adobe Premiere cs5 to edit it. Making this preliminary project gave me some useful

experience with the editing software.

This was helpful because our piece was quite reliable on editing techniques in order to be an effective piece. For example, the blue tint we

added really effects the final outcome, the same goes for the darker tint used in the attic.

Location

One of the main criticisms of our preliminary was the location in

which we filmed it. We filmed it in a classroom, which was not much of a problem, however, there were various posters in the room

which ruined the atmosphere

slightly.

Therefore, when we filmed our final piece, I had to move quite a few

objects which would not be found in an old inherited house such as kids’ toys

and TV Magazines.

SoundWhen we edited our preliminary project,

we did not cut out all of the ambient sound. The sound quality from the

camera we used was not very good and in my opinion, made the piece slightly

worse.

So, in ‘Deceased Memory’, I cut out the entirety of the audio. I swapped it for an

underlying soundtrack which was effective and made the piece not only

more enjoyable to watch, but also slightly more scary.
