QUESTION 7:LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO THE FULL PRODUCT?

Preliminary task

Final outcome

Looking back at my preliminary task you can clearly see an improvement. My final outcome is far more professional looking and eye-catching then the school magazine that I created.

I think the outcome of my preliminary task wasn’t very good due to the layout of the cover lines and the bland title, whereas my final outcome for my music magazine looks far better because it follows the conventions of a typical music magazine. This means it looks more professional and my target audience will be more likely to buy it.

Preliminary task

Final outcomeComparing the contents page of my preliminary task to my final outcome also shows a big improvement in my opinion. The contents page I created for my preliminary task is far too busy and uses too many images. The writing is also hard to see and the images are spaced out in a weird layout. However on my final outcome you can see all of the writing clearly and all of the writing has it’s own section. The images are also laid out neatly and have the page numbers next to them so that readers know where to find the page with more info on the images. This is good because readers are able to navigate efficiently. Overall my final outcome looks far more professional then my preliminary task.

Overall I think the music magazine I have created fits the brief and is a successful magazine that will get the attention of my target audience. The research I have done has definitely helped me create my magazine and has made me more aware of the techniques used to get peoples attention and make them want to buy a product. I think the best page of my magazine is my front cover because of the cool layout and tempting cover lines!
