YouTube

Throughout the process of making my opening sequence, I have learnt a range of different things, varying from my ability to access and navigate different software’s and website, to learning to how properly function equipment. I have learnt how to use these webpages to their full advantages and embed the codes required onto other webpages, such as weebly. One of the website I have learnt how to fully function is YouTube, YouTube is a website in which allows me to distribute my opening sequence (once finalised) to the suited target audience to allow viewing to take place. This website is a free and well known platform.

Weebly

Another website in which I have learnt to use is Weebly, at the beginning of the year I was not aware of how to use weebly, leading to me being unsure whether I would be able to use it consistently due to me not knowing how to navigate and organise the webpage. However, as the time has progressed I have grown to like weebly, and learnt how to fully use the website to my advantage, I believe that weebly is an easier alternative compared to other websites. The layout and themes are appealing as there is such a broad choice, and the webpage you are designs can be created exactly to your requirements.

PowToon

Powtoon, one of the other websites I used to help me with the structure of my evaluation, to show variation, I believe to be basic, and lack in professional standards. The websites targeted audience, in my opinion is ranged for younger children, e.g. primary school kids due to it being simple and very animatic. However, for the work we have been set to do, I do not believe Powtoon enables me to reach the standard fully in which is expected for use as Year 12 students.

Emaze

Emaze, is an easy to function and enjoyable to use software when creating different documents, this is due to it being flexible regarding designs and templates that are able to be used. This was helpful as when editing my information onto the slides, the themes used helped to create a particular mood and maintain the theme throughout. Emaze allows the presentations created to appear more interesting and fun looking as they enable images and different themes or colours to be used. Creativity is enabled also by using this software.

Prezi

Like Emaze, Prezi is a preference for PowerPoint. However, I feel as though Prezi enabled me to be more creative as it offered more of a range of different themes etc. It allows flexibility, and a large quantity of information to be included due to its versatility and wide range of room. When working with Prezi at the beginning of the year I didn’t like it, and believed that the website was pointless as I didn’t understand fully how to function it. However, when the time went on I come to learn that Prezi was helpful and one of the best software’s that I used when creating my evaluation.

Technical Skills

Regards to technicality skills, I believe that throughout the time period I have started to do this task from, the technical skills I withhold have widened, and my understanding of different technicalities have become stronger. However, I do not believe that my understanding of technicalities is to its full capacity, due to the student I was working with doing more of the camera shots etc. For me to fully gain understanding for future references I will need to be more domineering when it comes to filming footage. Also, my editing skills can be improved upon, if I was to fully learn how to edit due to me not, at this time period, understanding how to properly edit with ease.

Creativity

Regards to creativity, by using serif to edit the opening sequence, minimal creativity can be done due to the software not being as flexible as others may be. Serif is good for the basic editing tasks, which do not require much change, such as my preliminary task, however it doesn’t enable the full creativity advantage when dealing with the opening sequence. Due to me not doing the majority of the editing, as the person I worked with focused mainly on editing, I am not able to make a fully justified analysis as I am not fully aware on all of the pro’s and con’s that are applied when using this software. In order for me to make a full justification on the software, in future references I will have to edit a piece of work myself.
