IntroductionAs part of our A level Media course we have to complete seven evaluation questions each focusing on a different topic based on the pre-production, shooting and post production of our film. As you can tell by the title of this report I am going to be answering question 5. In this report I will be explaining in detail how our group attracted the audience through many ideas found in other media products, as well as this I will also be including information on how my media group addressed our audience, all this will be included in the pages to follow.

ResearchTo understand what attracts an audience to a thriller film we put in many hours of research in order to understand what interests an audience.

We did this by first of all conducting research into the very important codes and conventions of the thriller film genre, which are the basics and guidelines of what to include in your media product to make it a successful thriller film. After this our next step into researching audience pleasures and interests (specifically in thriller films) we created a survey/questionnaire to get a feel for what audiences there were, what they thought would be in a thriller film, what thriller films they like and what they think should be include when making a thriller film. We handed out or surveys to members of our media set, other friends and teachers, which also gave us a good age range (between teenagers and adults). The results gave us a wide spread understanding of how to attract an audience of many different interests.

How did we attract the audience? We managed to attract an audience by firstly using all the results from our survey to understand what attracts an audience to watch thriller film, alongside with research we conducted into codes and conventions of thriller films both past and present and tried to incorporate these interests, codes and convention into our media product.Secondly on our blog we uploaded filming progress updates on our blog, which would make our viewers of the blog anticipate the first draft of the film, as well as this we constantly posted updates on how close our group was to finishing the film. So in conclusion I think that the research that we conducted and the questionnaires we handed out was incredibly successful in both the making our film and attracting an audience which would watch the film and allowing our group an insight into audience tastes and interests.
