Transcript of Question 5

How did you attract/address your

audience?

The use of the website attracts the audience as they spend most of their time on the internet, so this means they could find out what ever they wanted about the magazine. The price £2.40 attracts the audience as this an average price for a magazine and it’s not overly expensive, meaning they can afford it. However I have noticed my original price I was going to put it as was £2.50. This attracts my audience because it’s

telling them they could meet the band members they know and love. This attracts my audience because they live for their music and therefore meeting the band members/artist would be a dream come true.

This colour scheme attracts my target audience as it’s bold and it unique. My focus group really liked the use of my colours and called the magazine “pretty”. Jayke, part of my focus group, said he likes the fact that its black with blue, white and purple text rather than white with blue, black and purple text. I’m very happy with my colour scheme knowing they think it’s unique, which is what I was aiming for.

My typography attracts my target audience because it’s creative and unique. Suiting the overall feel of the magazine. Having this typography shows I have spent time and effort into constructing my magazine.

This attracts my audience as in my survey I asked what did they spend most of their money on and food scored a 32%. So I included a ‘cheap’ food article to attract this side of my audience.

This article attracts my audience as in my survey I asked what they would like to see most in a magazine, I got them to rate the choices. Concerts and gig dates came top the most. Having articles about concert/gig dates and venues attracts them and also their social group, which would widen the purchase of my magazine.

This article attracts my audience as they want to be unique and therefore they may want to keep up with the ‘latest crazes’. Also the ‘get the look’ article attracts them because they may have an artist they want or do model their look and style on. Therefore this article helps them achieve this.

This ‘buying guide’ article attracts my audience because they live for their music and therefore want the best quality they can buy. Merchandise also scored a 15% on the spending question of my survey.

This attracts my audience because it draws attention to what the artists has said, so the readers can remember and find quickly the artist’s opinions or thoughts. Jayke, from my focus group, particularly liked my use of pull quotes.

This attracts my audience because it is showing a creative element and is also displaying that I put time and effort into my magazine. Lola, from my focus really likes the background. She mention that is was good because it was simple so the attention didn’t get drawn away from the article.

This simple footnote addresses the audiences aspirations. Making them think ‘that could be my name one day’.

The section on GCSE addresses my audience because they are very likely to be in education. This also gives the reader a goal and something to aspire to as they can see how the artist did (good or bad) and see that they got where they are no matter. Which in a way will give them confidence.

This pull quote addressing my audience because it makes them think about their family and possibly friends. This is a good way to address them as relationships will mean a lot and possibly the most to my target audience.
