Media Technologies

Throughout my project media technologies were integral to all stages of the process, from planning to evaluations. I used these technologies in a variety of ways to make my product look as professional as possible. Using these products has developed my knowledge on the creation of media products more so than my AS production. The following presentation will demonstrate how I have used these products at different stages of my coursework.

Final Cut Express Final Cut Express was the key technology in which I used to create my trailer. I used Final Cut Express’s features to make my product as professional as possible. The text animation features came in useful when creating inter titles for my film. In some scenes I also used the tint feature to make my scenes look darker, the black and white tool also came in useful. The ability to have total freedom with sound clips and video clips meant that I could create a sound bridge with the sound from one clip and show another on screen, this therefore made my product show professional forms and conventions. My knowledge of professional editing skills has improved due to the repeated use of this software. I now feel comfortable with the tools used. This is a large improvement from my AS production where I had very little knowledge of professional video editing software.

This was useful as the navigation allows the viewer to see the development of my product chronologically. It was also very useful when showing my audience professional products as they were able to see a collection of products all on one screen. It has also been used on two evaluation questions because of its aesthetic and ergonomic use. The use of this presentation software has been integral to my coursework development.

It was very useful in the early stages of production, I used it to feedback the results of my audience research questionnaire. I was able to show images of my feedback and analyse them accordingly. The viewer can then see the feedback from each answer chronologically and see the development of the audience’s response to the questionnaire. In the planning stage I could show the costume for each character in a chronological order. It has been a very useful way to demonstrate and present various elements of my project.

Since the majority of my work is created digitally it is useful to use blogger to present my work. It is also useful to see the development of my project from day one until the very end. I am now extremely confident with the use of blogger as it has been used more or less every day since the beginning of my project.
