In the UK our thriller could be distributed by a company called Metrodome via the Microwave scheme who give small British films a chance to have a £100,000 for their films and exactly 18 days to make it. This would definitely be suitable for our thriller as it would be a small British made film. We could also use Warp Films as they are local and independent, and would offer us enough creative freedom to make our thriller the way we like it, without them trying to influence any artistic decisions.

Conglomerates We decided against something like Warner Brothers or

any other large conglomerates because by definition they receive a lot of funding from other companies, which would lessen the amount of create control we have on our thriller. They would also have a large influence on the cast and crew, for example during the pre production stage of the first Harry Potter movie an idea was suggested for Steven Spielberg to direct it, and for it to be animated. If we were to use a international company they might try to introduce people team members or ideas that appose the themes and ideas of our thriller. Another issue with choosing a company like Warner Bros would be that they would want to distribute it globally, and I don’t think our thriller would necessarily appeal to an international audience.

How our Thriller could be viewed? Our thriller could be viewed in the cinema or

on the internet via a website as it is aimed for a younger audience and that is one of the commoner ways of watching films in this generation.

In terms of marketing our film, since we have chosen an independent company to distribute it, our budget would be small and therefore we would not be able to afford big posters and billboards. We would probably market it online instead using trailers, twitter accounts and a Facebook page. This would attract the kind of audience we are after as most young people use social media.

Pros and Cons Using Warp would be a good choice for our

film because they are local to us and specialise in small films. However, they have recently become more famous in Hollywood meaning that our film would gain more fame now than it would if we had made it a few years ago. This may not be good thing though as this is a British film promoting British values which audiences in other countries might fail to grasp meaning that we might receive bad reviews over seas. This is one of the issues with trying to attract a niche audience.
