Question 2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?Genre of my magazineMy magazine is in the genre of R&B. The social group that it is targeted for is aged 16-21 boys and mainly girls. These are images of what my target audience might look like:

Choice of Model

My model is a young black model. It was a necessity that she was young so that the target audience can relate to her. Because shes young she has a bubbly, energetic personality which makes her engage with the audience. I also used a black model as I know a high percentage of R&B music is by Afro-Carribean artists. Thus I wanted to use this to develop the genre of my magazine. Shes also female because I know that the female fans will look up to her and the male fans will find her attractive.Colour SchemeThe colour scheme that runs through my magazine is blue black, white and grey. Which isnt my starter colour palette. The colour blue connotes relaxation and can be seen as a stimulant colour. This will enable people to be quickly drawn in. Black and white are elegant and official colours. They are also very good contrasting colours, as they contrasts with any colour. They are also colours that help other things in the magazine stand out. I also used grey as it is a colour that isnt overpowering and it compliments with the other colours

Styling of the modelHair & Make-Up: She was wearing a suitable amount of make-up but not too flashy somewhat subtle but still professional looking like an artists did it for her. Her hair is wild and is an afro giving her a fierce signature look.Costume: She is wearing a grey dress and a blue bomber jacket. Bomber jackets are trending right now so she looks like shes in with the latest fashion. Her grey dress also fits in with the colour scheme of the magazine. Her outfit is like what a R&B artists would wear because its simple and still has a lot of swagger in it.Props: I didnt get her to have any musical instruments or headphones because they are rather clich props and most R&B magazines you can easily indentify them they are under the music category as they only use popular artists on their front cover.

Very famous R&B musician, Beyonce, wearing a bomber jacket.
