Question 2

1
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? My magazine is centred around rock music in general, so can include anything from soft, indie rock to more heavy styles of the genre. This target audience mainly consists of people from around 16-30 so I tended to use a less formal tone and more common vocabulary. No particular social class is really represented in the magazine as anyone can like the rock genre of music. I basically tried to make my magazine as user friendly as I could, meaning all sub-genres of rock are incorporated so even if there is something some people don’t like, they don’t feel left out. The stereotypical person who listens to this kind of music however will be someone who likes tattoos, piercings and other ways of standing out.
