Whether this is your first visit to Queen’s Park Day or your 35th (yes, the event is firmly established!) we’ve been working hard to ensure that you experience a perfect day out.
Mixing firm favourites with exciting new acts has been a priority this year. The Fanti Acrobats return with their stunning routines and Mr Alexander once more provides his captivating blend of magic. New to the event is the Essex Dog Display Team, the oldest established group of its kind in Britain, while contemporary folk band March Hares will be playing a range of traditional Celtic and American music.
On the food and drink stalls you can find a full range of favourites – from Thai, French, Moroccan, Indian and Afro-Caribbean fare to hog roast and pizzas. And for dessert there’s chocolate fruit or, new to QPD, delicious crepes.
This year’s baking competitions are for the best coffee cake and for under-14s only - brownies - to be judged by Sophie Grey of Crazy Baker. The best raspberry jam will be decided by Janet Cummins from the WI.
Our fantastic trade stalls are as eclectic a mix as usual and community stalls will be representing, amongst others, local branches of Friends of the Earth, Amnesty International, the Women’s Institute, the Samaritans and the Scout and Guide movements.
This event is organised by the Queen’s Park Area Residents’ Association - if you are interested in joining please head for
the QPARA tent (marked on the map) or complete the form on the back cover.
We are grateful to the Edward Harvist Trust, administered by Brent Council, and the Queen’s Park Partnership for their generous financial contributions; to the City of London Corporation for use of the Park and, as ever, to Richard Gentry and his park staff for all their help.
