El hámster = the hamster

To describe something that is “in progress” or “happening right now,” you can use the present
progressive (i.e. say it is happening)
• You start with ESTAR
• Yo estoy• Tú estás• Él/ella está• Nosotros estamos• Ellos están
• Then you take the action and make it a gerund (i.e. add an “-ing”) to make it in progress
• Hablar ==> Hablando• Beber ==> Bebiendo• Vivir ==> Viviendo
By adding an -ando or an -iendo.
When you put it together:
You have,
Ella está aprendiendo español.
Nosotros estamos corriendo.
Estoy bailando en la clase.
Ellos están compartiendo helado.
Tú estás enseñando francés.
