tional Safety and Behavioral Based Safety in regards to main

Aid, CPR and AED training specifically focused on medical

emergencies in the workplace. Upon completion, students re-

are used to teach safe practices. This course complies with the

conduct the hands-on training and evaluation at your work-

This one-day course offers instructors the tools necessary to

HAZWOPER 8-Hour RefresherDate: January 27

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This course meets the requirements outlined in OSHA 29 CFR

1910.120 for eight hours of annual refresher training for workers

at hazardous waste sites.

This course covers all aspects of the initial training require-ments for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48. The objective is to train new/inexperienced miners on the safety and health hazards in the surface metal/non-metal industry.

This course satisfies the total MSHA requirement for new/in-experienced miner training. Upon completion, students will re-ceive a completed 5000-23 training certificate. This certificate will expire one year after completion and must be renewed annually be taking the 8-hour annual training course.

Students will also receive First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

MSHA 16-Hour Training for New/Inexperienced Metal/Non-Metal Surface MinersDates: January 11-12, 25-26; February 8-9, 22-23;

March 8-9, 22-23

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Participant: $175 *on-site training available

This course covers general aspects of the initial training re-quirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48. The objective is to train new/inexperienced miners on the safe-ty and health hazards in the surface metal/non-metal industry.

This is a 16-hour class, and is designed for individuals who will receive an additional eight-hours of site-specific training from the mine operator. If required and provided by the mine opera-tor, the site-specific training must be conducted at the mine site according to the mine operator’s training plan.

MSHA 8-Hour Annual Training for Experienced Metal/Non-Metal Surface MinersDates: January 9, 16, 23, 30; February 6, 13, 27; March 6, 20, 27

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Participant: $75 *on-site training available

This course covers all aspects of the annual training require-

ments for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48. Those

who successfully complete this course will return to the job

with the skills necessary to perform their work in accordance

with MSHA regulations.

Upon completion, students will receive a completed 5000-23

annual refresher training certificate. This certificate will expire

one year after completion.

MSHA 32-Hour Training for New/Inexperienced Underground MinersDates: January 25-28; March 22-25

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Participant: $375 *on-site training available

This training course gives new miners the knowledge they

need to face the safety and health hazards involved in un-

derground mining. Students will receive their MSHA 5000-23

form upon completion.

MSHA Site-Specific Requirements: This course provides par-

ticipants with a total of 32 hours of the 40 required training

hours. Due to the diversity of our students, task and hazard

awareness training will not be included in the Utah Safety

Council’s training session. The site-specific training must be

conducted at the mine site according to the mine operator’s

training plan. This constitutes the remaining eight-hours of re-

quired training for underground miners.

Students will also receive First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

MSHA 8-Hour Annual Training for Experienced Underground MinersDate: January 27, March 24

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Participant: $75 *on-site training available

This training gives experienced underground miners the

knowledge they need to face the safety and health hazards

involved in underground mining. Students will receive their

MSHA 5000-23 form upon completion.

MSHA Site-Specific Requirements: Due to the diversity of our

students, task and hazard awareness training will not be in-

cluded in the Utah Safety Council training session. The site-

specific training must be conducted at the mine site according

to the mine operator’s training plan.

NFPA 70E Electrical Safety

Date: March 3

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Non-Member: $165| Member: Save 30% *on-site available

Avoid electrical injuries, deaths, and OSHA violations by at-

tending this course. This NFPA 70E course explains how and

why NFPA 70E protects personnel from potentially deadly

hazards.

OSHA 10-Hour for General IndustryDates: January 19-20

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Non-Member: $200 | Member: FREE** *on-site available

This course covers OSHA standards for the General Industry,

29 CFR 1910. The OSHA Training Institute will issue course

completion cards to each student.

Subjects covered in this course include: an Introduction to OSHA, Walking and Working Surfaces, Fall Protection, Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, Fire Protection, Electrical safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Hazard Communication with the new GHS requirements, and other safety topics.

**As part of the Utah Safety Council member benefits, this course is FREE for one person, per member organization, per membership year. Contributing and Sustaining members re-cieve an additional attendee for free each year. Additional at-tendees from a member organization are $95 each.

This OSHA 30-hour course covers OSHA standards for the

General Industry, 29 CFR 1910. Curriculum helps establish a

foundation for the company health and safety program. The

course includes a copy of the latest Mancomm® edition of the

29 CFR 1910 Standard Regulation Manual.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants re-

ceive a wallet card from the U.S. Department of Labor Occu-

pational Safety & Health Administration indicating they have

completed the 30-hour course.
