High Point Church High Point Church has enthusiastically committed to help us at the Annual Battle of the Guns and Hoses Barbeque Cook-off. Bonnie Barker, Children's and Mission Pastor, and her team of dedicated volunteers will be providing activities and games to entertain the children during the Cook-off. Activities will include face painting, video games from High Point's Video Truck, dancing to music, and a bouncy house. According to their website, "High Point Church strives to be a community church and not just a church in the community! We believe that it is our responsibility to make Lake Wales a better place! Feeding the homeless, serving at our local schools, and sponsoring sports teams are just a few of the ways that we give back to our community!" Our sincere thanks to High Point Church for their help with our Cook-off and for all they do for our community! They definitely are a community church
who goes above and beyond to help our community.

Gadget Kid Tech Nights
Bok Academy will be working with the B Street Center to offer free tech support - as a learning and teaching experience for their IT Tech students. The first two tech nights have been scheduled for Thursday, November 21st, and Thursday, December 12th - from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm.
The plan is to have a device/app demo, with different stations set up - allowing the students to show off their various skills and specialties. This would be from approximately 4:30-5:30, as people wander in. From 5:30 - 7:00 there will be a structured class on using Google Docs/Drive, utilizing the computer lab at the center, with members completing some basic activities within Google Drive, and students providing one on one assistance. The plan is to provide some time at the end of the class to assist in setting up personal Gmail accounts, helping people begin personal projects, or just "playing".
