• All learners receive 8 half hour lessons per week

• The cost of individual lessons are R1250 per quarter which is billed to your account. Marimba band is R750 per quarter.

• Any practical or theory books needed will be billed to your account

• Teachers will email through the weekly homework

• It is necessary to purchase or hire an instrument so that practice can take place at home

E N S E M B L E S

• It is a requirement for all instrumental players to take part in an ensemble group such as the orchestra or recorder ensemble.

• We would like to encourage pianists to join up with our choir.

O R C H E S T R A

• Our Junior Prep Orchestra is run by Mr. Thurloe Ernstzen.

• Rehearsals take place on a Monday and Friday morning at 7:30-8:00am

• The Orchestra rehearses in the music room (room 8)

C H O I R

• Mr. Thurloe Ernstzen conducts our Junior Prep Choir.

• The Junior Prep Choir rehearse on a Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:30-8:00am in the Pre-primary hall.

• Our Junior Prep Choir is currently rehearsing for this year's West Coast Song Festival. The festival takes place towards the end of August. We will share that date as soon as it becomes available.

G R A D E 1 R E C O R D E R E N S E M B L E

• The Recorder ensemble is open to all Grade 1's that play the recorder

• The Recorder is a great starter instrument for learners as it allows them to move on to other woodwind instruments such as the clarinet, oboe, flute and saxophone.

G R A D E 3 M A R I M B A B A N D

• The Grade 3 Marimba band rehearses on a Thursday morning at 7:15-8:00am in music room 8.

G R A D E 1 & 2 O R F F

• Our Orff group rehearses on a Tuesday at 14:00-14:30pm in music room 8.
