Observations:Demographic:• There was only one more female participant then there was male. I was pleased with this because it prevents gender biased results.• I had no participants between the ages of 21-30 which I am also pleased with as this wasn’t the demographic I was aiming to reach. • I only had participants from a White Ethnicity.• I was able to get participants from different regional areas.• I had more participants that have a Full-Time Job.Knowledge of the Genre:• Only one participant had studied media.• The favoured forms of media were Music, Film and TV.• 3 participants had watched a short film and 4 had not.• All 7 participants would be interested in watching a short film.Content:• The most popular issue was Social Class and Status.• The most popular theme was Class and Status.• Horror and Sci-Fi were the favoured movie genres.• Teenagers were the favoured age group to be watched•The most important thing in a film was the Storyline and AesthesisViewing Habits:• Both TV and Online were the favoured ways to consume a short film.• The most popular websites were YouTube, Netflix and Film4.

Analysis:• Most of the participants where from further away regions

nearer to the countryside or the coast which could be why they would like to see a short film about class and status.

• All the participants were white which could have an effect on whether a short film that is based around the class and status of white people would be popular.

• The participants obviously prefer to consume a short film through the internet or television as this is the easiest to access.

• The storyline and the aesthetics were the most important most likely because a storyline is what helps the short film to keep moving a long and the aesthetics so that it is pleasing for an audience to watch.

Evaluations:• It would most likely be easier to create a hybrid genre of Social

Realism and Horror then it would be with Sci-Fi as that could draw it too far away from Social Realism which is the greater focus.

• It would be useful for me to go onto the sites that my participants used to watch short films and see what type of shorts are on there to aid my knowledge.

• The fact that all my participants were of White ethnicity could be a problem as these answers may be biased.

• It will be most beneficial for me to create a short film that is about teenagers.

• I will need to make sure that my short film is aesthetically pleasing however also make sure that I remember to make the storyline as interesting and concise as I can.

Conclusions:• To conclude I found that a short film that is a

hybrid genre of Social Realism and either Sci-Fi or Horror that is based on the theme of Class and Status and surrounds itself with the issue of Social Class and Status which involves teenagers will be the best to make as it is what my target demographics would like to watch the most.
