Judiciary
• Conducting legal proceedings online in
civil, administrative and supervision
• Paper case files make way for digital case

• Personal contact remains
• The judge directs and can ensure a tailor-
made approach
• The judge becomes a supervisor
Modernisation in Supervision

Criminal law
• Advance digital court reform?
• Sober ambition: digitize paper
• Quite succesful strategy
• Started in 2014:
• 100% digitized casefiles for (traffic) violations
• 90% digitized trials for single judge courts
(smalle crimes, punishments up to one year
imprisonement)
• 20% digitized files for courts that handle
serious crimes.
• 85% of all the files is digitized.
• Biggest challenge is implementation.
Ongoing digitalisation
Next step:
Digital transformation:
How can we use data in an other way.
Some innnovation we would like to start
with:
-file preparation with AI
-start experimenting with speech to text
and maybe later speech to report.
-database for consist punishmnent
assesment
