MENTORING PROGRAMThe QRC/WIMARQ Mentoring Program is the first of its kind in Queensland and was created to meet proven demand for formal mentoring from the rising number of women working in Queensland’s minerals and energy sectors.

The QRC/WIMARQ Mentoring Program aims to support professional mentees through career guidance and direction by sharing mentor/mentee experiences, developing career goals and forging exceptional mentoring partnerships. The QRC/WIMARQ Mentoring Program 2019 is managed by the Queensland Resources Council in

WOMEN IN MINING AND RESOURCES QUEENSLAND (WIMARQ)Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) is supported by The Queensland Resources Council. WIMARQ is a group of volunteers that supports the attraction and retention of women in the resources sector in Queensland by organising networking events, roadshows, workshops, and seminars. WIMARQ is a reference group to the Queensland Resources Council with this mentoring program and an annual International Women’s Day Breakfast and the Resources Awards for Women.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMThe QRC/WIMARQ Mentoring Program 2019 will run from June to November.

There will be three official‘sundowners held throughout the each program: a launch function, midway networking function and a celebration function at the end .

The QRC/WIMARQ Mentoring Program has a structured framework that includes a comprehensive matching and training process for all participants.

There will be 40 mentee positions available to women working in minerals and energy in Queensland across all disciplines.

As part of the structured framework mentees will be required to:• complete a mentee applicationform to help us match you withyour perfect mentor• attend a two-hourcomprehensive training session tohelp youhave a successful mentoringexperience• attend the QRC/WIMARQmentoring program launch on14th June 2019 in Brisbane, whichis coordinated by QRC andWIMARQ as part of your trainingsession.We look forward to inviting you tobe part of Queensland’s first andonly face-to-face Women inMinerals and Energy MentoringProgram.

From here, your application will be analysed as part of the formal matching process.

COST: For mentees not sponsored by their employer, the cost to mentees is $1,000 + GST, which represents half the cost of the candidate’s program.

The remaining half is subsidised by program sponsors.
