Page 2: Qcl 14-v3 best-practices_simsree_rohitkaul

• In 2013, Pizza Hut introduced a platform for Xbox 360 users

• The app landed on Microsoft’s console and generated more than $1 million worth of sales in its first four months after launch

• It let users build a pizza with their controller from the comfort of their well-worn couch

1. INNOVATION

2. Customer is the king

• Pizza Hut provides customers with a registration process to define their personal communication and pizza preferences and delivery instructions

• Customers can order online, via traditional call-in, via a mobile site, and even via an ordering app on an Xbox 360® system

• Online registration allows customers to get exclusive deals, save “fast favs” for quick reorders, and even set pre-orders for up to 7 days ahead.

3. Social initiatives

4. Freedom to customize order

• Pizza hut goers can customize their order right from the crust they want, to the toppings, filling, pizza, side orders & finally the payment method

• The touch technology introduced at some of its outlets attracted huge customers and increased sales dramatically

• It is one of the best practices that other companies could emulate as it gives a more personalized touch to the customer’s order

5. Great promotional & fun practices

• It is an appreciation of the fact that the waiters and cooks have served you well

• Satisfied customers go ahead and ring the bell as an act of appreciation

• The number of such rings is conveyed to the management and its helps gauge the company’s performance to some extent

How one could innovate these practices within college premises ?

• Some innovative practices could be adopted.

• There is sometimes shortage or delay of the required food in the canteen. There couldbe an app made where students could inform the canteen cooks before hand itself of thefood they want. Thus pre-bookings through mobile based app could be a good learningfrom Pizza Hut.

• Since ours is a government college, we could spare some funds towards upliftment of thepoor & needy children. We could offer these children some of our old clothes to bring anelement of cheer in their life

• Like Pizza Hut empowers its customers to choose their orders and customize them, ourcollege could empower the students by giving them additional responsibilities be it inadministrative or non administrative issues.
