3.1 Use PPE and access equipment safely tocarry out the activity in accordance withlegislation and organisational requirementswhen erecting masonry cladding

7.1 Demonstrate the following work skills whenerecting masonry cladding:

Measuring, Marking out, Laying,Positioning and Securing

7 Comply with the givencontract information toerect masonry claddingto the requiredspecification

7.2 Erect brick and block and/or local materialcladding, including the formation of doorand window openings and joint finishes,to contractor's working instructionsto one or more of the following:

- Pre-erected timber frame structures- Pre-erected concrete structures- Pre-erected steel structures

7.3 Describe how to apply safe work practices,follow procedures, report problems andestablish the authority needed to rectify them:

- Erect brick, traditional and thin joint blocksand/or local material cladding to pre-erectedtimber frame, concrete and steel structures

- Erect local material in the vernacular style- Lay bricks, blocks (traditional and thin joint)- Form joint finishes- Form openings for doors and windows- Position damp-proof barriers- Mix mortar- Use hand tools, power tools and equipment- Work with crane handled or mechanically

handled loads- Work at heights and use access equipment

7.4 Safely use and store hand tools, portablepower tools and ancillary equipment

7.5 State the needs of other occupations and howto communicate within a team when erectingmasonry cladding

7.6 Describe how to maintain the tools andequipment used when erecting masonrycladding
