Any thoughts of creating a patient personal health record for those who don’t have a family doc or nurse practitioner but want to keep their health records (labs, clinic notes, etc) in 1 secure spot until they do? It would help MDs when they do need to access care.

Today, if the patient has multiple providers and has a Medeo account, they can receive information from all of those providers and consolidate that in their Medeo account. We are working with the broader information technology community to see if there are ways to share this beyond Accuro.

Are the anonymized advanced reports being shared with Doctors of BC? Is anonymized patient information sold by Accuro to other third parties?

QHR does not share the Advanced Reports with Doctors of BC. The Dashboards are going to be available to support the Panel Management workbook and process for cleaning up panels. Customers are responsible for who they provide access to the reports to, but it is intended to be used as an internal clinic tool to assist with the Doctors of BC initiative.

Are you working to increase functionality of the transcription portion? (The ability to create columns, out spaces between numbered lists, etc.)

You can submit a template to be used by Mmodal. Some features may not be possible but they can be evaluated individually.

At the next stop in your tour can you make videos of the talks so we can access them, particularly forms? It is great but too quick to remember everything.

Can I attach a document from Accuro into an email? E.g.: if a patient wants a copy of the consult note from their visit emailed to them.

With Accuro Patient Messaging you can securely send messages to your patients. When sending these messages, you can attach any item from the patient’s Virtual Chart. Accuro Patient Messaging is powered by Medeo. Ask your BD Rep at the Clinic Tools Booth for more information.

Can you add the patient’s office provider to the top of the screen... where the pt’s demo bar is (pt Name, DOB etc)?

Yes. Go to the Accuro menu> File>User Preferences>Display box>Display tab. Right click in the Demographics Status Bar Line 1 or 2 to add office provider.

Can you automatically populate what’s in the history bands, etc. into a letter; and can you pick and choose which categories you automatically enter?

Yes. There are 2 ways you can go about this. 1. In Tools>Template Wizard>Select Template, right click within the template to add specific medical bands. 2. In a generated letter on the left side of the screen there is an option to select Medical History, and you can select medical bands from here as well to populate into your letter.

Can you create a gender non-binary category for templates? (Instead of he/she using they and them)

Can you delete a physician out of the phone book if they have retired?

You can delete if they are not associated to a patient’s file. I would recommend marking them as inactive and when searching you can choose to show inactive providers or not.

Can you use a touch screen and pen instead of a mouse to sign the empty signature box in the annotated notes?

Yes, you’ll need to use either a device that can connect to your computer with a USB, or a touch screen monitor.

Could you provide a way to delete a payment (in private billing) rather than refunding (correction)? Then it would not show on an invoice when a mispayment was applied.

You can delete the entry, but first you would have to apply the refund correction, remove the invoice (if it was generated), and delete the claim or appointment to ensure the refund correction did not appear.

Delete misfiled documents?

If you have misfiled a document, when you right click on it in the Virtual Chart, there is the option to Modify. You can modify the date, provider, document type or even patient. If this won’t work for you, you need the feature access permission to be able to permanently delete documents from the patient’s chart. Alternatively some users create a patient chart for garbage and you can modify the document patient and move any documents that you wish to delete to this fake patient’s chart.

Delete retired providers/merge duplicate providers?

If there is a provider who used to work in your office who is no longer actively seeing patients, you can hide visibility from this provider in the Templates. You need to be a System Administrator to do this. If you are not a System Administrator of Accuro, under the Accuro Menu>Help>EMR Registry you can fill in a form to remove the provider from your system. We don’t actually delete providers from Accuro because there may be appointments or chart notes attached to them. Removing the visibility removes the provider name from lists and dropdowns, but keeps all information they are connected to in a patient chart.

Do you know why in the F4>patient orders screen the appt time box only works sometimes?

We’d need to investigate with you further, but presently Appointment Time does not work for Forms, so it could be that. We are currently working to ensure Appt Time can be added for Forms.

Emailing requisition or document direct from Accuro

We get this question a lot. Due to Privacy and Security laws, personal health information should not be emailed. This is because email servers are often in the USA. We now have patient messaging that allows attachments from the chart to be securely sent to patients, and they can be notified via email.

Here locally we have multiple family physicians working at multiple locations. When searching for a doctor it should show clinic name or address as opposed to just name and city.

Go to the Accuro Menu>File>User Preferences>Search>Click on Provider and you will see the additional fields you can see in your search preview.

How can we automatically get the physician signature in the program so we don’t have to print out for signatures? The doctor doesn’t like using the onscreen sign feature.

For Clinical Notes, you’ll need to have the Physician sign a piece of paper with dark ink, then send it to us at [email protected] and we will upload it for you. Providers can also store their signature electronically for Forms and Prescriptions. Have the provider log in and press F2 to go to Provider Configuration and click the button to ‘Set Signature’.

How can we make a form in form editor without having to scan a form in?

When you click on the new form button in the Form Editor, choose the option for Blank Form instead of ‘From File’.

How can we resend an appointment reminder once it has already been sent? E.g. sending it to the patients email once it has been sent to their cell, etc.

It is an automated system so there is no option to manually resend a reminder.

How can you generate a list of no show appointments?

From the reporting section: Ctrl R>Select Provider(s) in the top left corner>No Show Cancellation Trend Report>Generate Report

How can you jump days in scheduling? e.g. 181 days for a new consult.

Right click within the Scheduler and select Jump Ahead. You can choose to jump by Days, Months and Years.

How do I print an appointment history for a patient?

The easiest way is to access the Quick Patient Appointment View (F4 shortcut), then from the File menu select Print Patient Schedule.

How do you add traffic manager to our office workflow?

Traffic manager is a module that can be turned on by a system administrator or by calling our support desk.

How do you add patient flags, e.g. for patients that do require more time? And will the flag pop up before you schedule them an appointment?

There are a few options for adding patient flags. One option is to press F7 to open the patient flags window. Then, next to patient flags click new. You can create your own patient flags here and apply them to a patient chart. These show as small icons on the demographics status bar to subtly remind you about that patient. Alternatively, you can use Global Messages which are pop up messages found in the Patient Demographics area. You can type in the message you’d like to see and then this pops up on the screen for any user that selects that message. These can be more intrusive to the user, though, if you don’t like to click on several pop up messages.

How do you create a tracker for an outgoing referral?

There are a few ways to do this. Option 1: When you generate a referral letter and click send letter, prior to clicking send there is an option to select a tickbox that reads Referral Letter.Select this and get a drop down option to select New Referral Order. Once sent it will add to outstanding reqs, referrals and orders. Option 2: Go to Accuro bulls eye>Reports>Outstanding Reqs, Referrals and Orders and click the New Order button at the bottom of the page to add it manually.

How do you delete an inactive provider?

How do you remove billing procedure codes that are saved but are no longer valid MSP codes?

Billing codes that MSP no longer has in production should automatically be removed when you run a fee code update. If they are not being removed please call our Client Services Help Desk at 1-866-729-8889 with specific examples, and we can investigate.

How do you send a fax without attaching a document?

Depending on where you are faxing from, you can right click on the exact item you wish to fax. This can be a form, letter, or document. You do not need to attach any additional items to a fax. If you want to fax something generic that originates from Accuro, we recommend creating a form (in the Form Editor) that would be a generic fax form. You could open this on a fake patient chart, and then fill in as necessary and send this to any recipient. If you are looking at a document that was sent to you via fax in the Documents section, you can click on the fax button and fax this to any recipient without filing the document to a patient chart.

How to undelete a fax, or task, or chart entry that you’ve accidentally deleted?

If you have access to Manage Security, from the Accuro Menu, you can go to Audit logs. Search for the patient that an item was deleted from, right click on the activities on the bottom half of the screen, and Restore. Some activities, such as a fax that was deleted from the documents section, can only be retrieved if the ‘do not permanently delete faxes’ setting is turned on. Items deleted from the chart can be restored.

If a requisition for labwork has been done and you want to repeat it, let’s say a year later, with a new date?

You can right click on an old requisition and choose to ‘Open as New’ if you want to reprint or fax the form with the same information on it.

How to do put your Accuro calendar onto your smart phone

You must know your WebAccuro address. For ASP clients this is always https://[ACRON].ace1.cloudwerx.com. You must know your Accuro Provider ID, which is an Accuro derived identification number, not your billing # or license #. To Display the Provider ID in Accuro, click File in the Accuro Start Menu and select User Preferences. Click the Search icon down the left hand side. In the Search Types, select Provider. Click the Provider ID checkbox. If you need any assistance with your clinic web address and physician id to complete the web address above, please contact your clinic IT person. TO CONNECT YOUR SCHEDULER TO OUTLOOK: In Outlook, open the calendar pag and open Calendar. From the internet enter the calendar location: [webaccuro address]/iCalendar/[ProviderID].icsEg. https://ACRON.ace1.cloudwerx.com/iCalendar/1234.ics. Click Yes to add calendar and subscribe to updates. Enter your Accuro username and password when prompted (remember to start with a .\ to clear your default domain).

I have blocked a chart and then others are not able to open the chart. How do we unblock it?

A chart can be locked or unlocked by a physician role, by going to the EMR>Encounter Notes tab and selecting the icon next to the patients name in the search field in the top left corner. If the symbol is green it is unlocked, if red it can be selected and the provider who locked it can unlock it using their Accuro password and a reason as to why they are unlocking it. If a chart item is Masked by someone, Alt + clicking with your mouse will lock or unlock the item. Again, the person who masked it must unmask it. If someone else in the office tries to click on the patients masked item or locked chart a message will appear saying who masked or locked the chart.

If you cancel a patient and book another patient in that appointment slot, how do you update the list of patients for the doctor in virtual chart?

Right click on an appointment and choose the option for Cancel Appointment. This removes the appointment from the scheduler and therefore removes the appointment from the EMR Daysheet for the provider. We recommend using the built in Cancellation feature to cancel all appointments.

In annotations, can I draw an arrow or draw a circle around text?

There is not an option for drawing. Highlighting would be the closest option. It is a great suggestion, so you may want to add it to Ideas Portal. https://ideas.qhrtech.com/ideas

In regards to recurring appts, closest spots instead of exact dates? To choose next best following time frame?

When there is a conflict for a recurring appointment you have the option to double book, change the time, or don’t book at all. If you choose to change the time you can pick another time that is close to the original time requested.

In the F4 screen for consult, waitlist doesn’t show consult type. Is this screen customizable?

It is not customizable. You can click the Open button to view the waitlist request in full.

Is it better to use ALT to open a separate component (scheduler etc), or to have two separate Accuros open?

It is better to use ALT to open a separate component for a couple reasons - but mostly about speed and performance. Running two separate Accuro’s at the same time can cause some slowness and performance issues. We recommend using the ALT keys as well as the various shortcut keys instead.

Is it possible for a warning/pop-up for booking patients back too early according to MSP allowance... 6 months/43 days

You can create billing rules for ‘billed within’ date range. Then enter the code that you only want to be able to bill every 6 months (or 43 days), and complete the rule condition to state what you want Accuro to warn you about. Ensure you choose the action to show violation warning so that you get a pop up if you try and bill the code too soon.

Is it possible to add the coverage eligibility check icon on the F6 quick patient add screen?

Is there an online way to access training for Accuro from workplace without having to call an Accuro rep?

We are currently working on updating our eLearning options offered to you on Accuro Learning Academy. Please be patient as we build up our content, and keep your eyes open for communication on when you will be able to access our eLearning content.

Is there a way to record an out of office appointment for an MRI? That way if we are to book a follow-up post-MRI we can see when the booked MRI date is?

You can use Outstanding Reqs, Referrals and Orders for this. Adding a New Order to the list, and using the columns: status, booked date, appointment date and time.

Is there a way to scan patient info into chart via smartphone... e.g. hospital round stickers for billing

Is there a way to show invoice numbers on the billed and paid report?

There is not an option for invoice numbers on the billed and paid report.

Is there a way to search for particular GP or referral doc and see how many patients are attached to that doctor? This also pertains to deleting an inactive GP/Dr.

In the reporting section, Ctrl + R, under the Clinical category there is a Referring Providers Count report.

Is there a way to set time limits to online booking? If a patient was just seen can the online booking be set to not allow a follow up for six months?

You cannot set time limits on the patients for how often they are allowed to book. But you do retain control of accepting or rejecting appointment requests. You could reject an appointment request for a patient that has been seen recently. Is there a way to simplify adding locums?

Client services can add any new providers, locums, or staff for you free of charge when you send in the required forms from our help menu<Accuro EMR Registry. Alternately, we offer remote training and can go through teaching this process if preferred, but this does have a fee associated with it.

Is there an easier way to register the same doctor at multiple locations instead of registering them as Dr. Smith 1, Dr. Smith 2?

Is there any way Accuro can show GPs that have retired?

Thank you for your question, however we require further investigation that can only be done via screen share with specific examples. Please call our client services help desk at 1-866-729-8889 to talk to a Client Services Analyst.

It’s great to have different components such as FreedomRx or Cliniconex but why should it be an added expense to the physicians? Owners don’t need more expenses when the office overhead is already high enough.

Not all the services cost money. Freedom Rx, as an example, is included with Accuro. We include what we can, and it is up to us to justify a return on investment for any additional costs to customers.

Mass email to contacts?

At this time you cannot email contacts out of Accuro, but you can email patients with Accuro Patient Messaging. If you build a query for all patients you wish to email, there is an action to send a message through Medeo (Accuro Patient Messaging) to all patients. Keep an eye on the release notes for more information about Provider to Provider messaging, which will allow you to send messages to your contact list once it is available.

Once the dr has printed a Rx (it has their signature on it) and then you need to reprint it, it comes up WITHOUT their signature. How do you print it with their signature again?

The doctor has to be the one to sign it, thus if the doctor reprints the prescription it will have their signature on it.

Perhaps hosting a small clinic and large clinic sessions (separate) would be beneficial, as the dynamics are very different.

Re: checking coverage eligibility, it would be very helpful, after checking patient provincial medical coverage for the day, if the patient name (font) would change color in the schedule screen (like green if coverage ok, red if not valid). Thank you!

Re: printing charts for transfer, when in Virtual Chart... choosing print whole chart option by right click... in the preview screen, is there a way to print only certain pages / delete ones not wanted?

There isn’t an option within the print entire chart window to make page selections. However an alternative way to select items from the chart and print or fax would be to hold down control on your keyboard and make selections with your mouse and then right click and print or fax.

Saving resized Accuro screens and why we cannot minimize certain Accuro screens

Search for a person who would be listed under demographics-relationship tab? Eg. Receive a phone message from a social worker (who we presume would be added in patient demo-relationships) but you couldn’t hear the patient name. Can you search the social worker’s name or phone number in the EMR?

If you tap alt and then type in ‘Search Family Link’ you can search for the patient name you know, then it will show you all people that have relationships linked to that patient.

The ability to have numerous Accuro screens open without closing each one to add information to the specific Accuro screen.

You can use the shortcut ALT + click on a different section of Accuro to open more than one window at once. Head to the Tips and Tricks session at 1245pm today to see this in action!

The evidence is clear that EMRs are contributing to provider burnout & patient satisfaction. I don’t see true engagement with end users by EMRs & EHRs. What is QHR really doing to reduce things that create frustrations for staff & physicians? The voting on ideas isn’t exactly a true engagement.

It is our intention to engage with customers and is one of the key reasons for this event. We design the system to be as flexible as possible so it is not forcing clinics into workflows that are ineffective for them. We suggest you book some one on one time with one of our team members to see what we can tackle together within the EMR and hear from you directly. Voting on ideas simply helps us with prioritization of crowdsourced ideas.

When I send a letter from the letter queue or generate a letter on doctors behalf it doesn’t give me an option to add notes to coversheet. Is there a fix for this?

This funcationality does exist. Ensure that the tickbox Include Coversheet is turned on when you go to send the letter.

What is Accuro doing to improve interoperability among other health platforms?

We have integrations with a number of systems but you are right, there are many more to go. With no agreement across the industry, these are done one by one. We have begun opening up APIs (connection point) to Accuro to allow integration from others. We are also implementing FHIR which is a clinical standard that many of the other systems have agreed to use. The purpose of this is to up the pace of interoperability between systems (ie: other EMRS for ereferral, hospital summaries, labs, and even patient-facing apps) by all speaking the same language.

What quality improvement initiatives is Accuro planning with physicians, staff, and patients to improve Accuro?

We are currently working with different disease associations to try and find ways that physicians can opt in to automate identification of patients that are not being treated according to guidelines. This is in its early stages and we hope to have some pilot programs available to you in the future.

When I’m faxing from virtual chart will pharmacy be made available as a quick button option?

You can mark any contact in your address book as a favourite, such as a pharmacy. When you click on the star next to a contact name in the address book, then click to fax. All favourite contacts show up without searching.

When linking procedure codes or macros to appointment types, will this show on a printed day sheet?

The appointment type shows on the daysheet, but not the individual codes billed. You could use the End of Day report or Billed and Paid report if you’d like to see the procedure codes used for a specific date.

When sending a referral through the letter queue and adding attachments like previous consult letter, is there a way to delete the fax cover letters so they aren’t attached to the referral?

The fax cover sheet would need to be deleted from the Virtual Chart document prior to attaching it.

When viewing documents is there a way to edit a document and save without it going to the bottom of the pile?

There isn’t. When working in the documents section this is looking at the faxes or scans outside of Accuro. When you make changes to one of the documents outside of Accuro, it will go to the bottom of the list as it becomes a new document.

When will dragon be compatible with Accuro

We offer Mmodal’s Dictation and Transcription Services, and Mmodal offers higher accuracy using the cloud. Please speak to the team at the Clinical Tools booth.

When will there be an alternative to faxing available?

Secure messaging (emailing) within Accuro is available to send items to patients. Please speak to someone at the clinical tools booth about this option. We are looking into options for provider to provider messaging as well.

Why is it called a review button instead of say, a completed button?

I believe you are talking about the review button for documents/labs. This ties back to paper workflow, and when a provider had to review documents or labs that were coming directly to them.

Will formatting be corrected in address book for capitalization of names and addresses? e.g. When registering a physician?

Will the efax to pharmacies avoid the need for physically signed prescriptions as demanded by the college of phamacists?

We are currently working with provinces on the interpretation of these rules as they apply to ePrescribing, which is a new area for the industry. But the rules are different in every province and that’s why ePrescribe is currently available only in Manitoba and Ontario.

With the appointment reminder option can you template two different reminders based on two separate providers in the same office?

Yes! You can definitely do this. Come to the BD Clinic Tools booth for more information on Appointment Reminders and to get set up.

You said that Accuro uses M*modals transcription, but sooooo many docs use Dragon. There is a lot of desire to be able to use Dragon. This would make a huge difference to many clinics and offices on the island!!

We have chosen to partner with M*Modal, and Dragon does not have a cloud connector which allows us to make the technology work in Accuro ASP. We were partnered with Dragon transcription services in the past, but they removed their support in Canada.
