  • 3. Photo ShopWhen I first had to use Photo shop on my preliminary task Idont fell I was given enough time to experiment with thedifferent tools on the software. However, since making my firstmagazine I believe I have progressed a lot when making mysecond magazine. I was given more time to experiment with thetools on my main task. Therefore, being able to make mymagazine a lot more creative and professional.Since making my preliminary task magazine, I have learnt howto manipulate images using photo shop. This has made myimages a lot more effective for my main task magazine.
  • 4. InDesignBefore taking AS Media, I had not used InDesign beforeto create anything. When I first used it to create mycontents page for my preliminary task I wasnt tooconfident of how to use the wide range of tools on thesoftware. However, I feel I have progressed from this,through making my main task magazine, as I am nowable to use InDesign with confidents and I am able touse a lot of the tools on the software.This has benefited my final magazine as I was moreexperienced when created it so I could use all thedifferent tools there are to use, to make it as effective,creative and professional as possible.
  • 5. Still CameraSince the preliminary task I feel I have learnt totake much more effective and professionalphotographs. I have learnt how to use lightingand settings to my advantage to make the imagereally effective.I have also learnt about the different types ofshots there are you can use when takingpictures. For example, long shot, medium close-up. Additionally I have learnt to use the thirds rulewhen taking photos. I used this rule when takingimages for my main task magazine to make themseem more professional.

Industry PracticeThrough making my preliminary taskmagazine and my main task magazine, Ihave now got experience on focusing on atarget audience and creating what they wouldwant to see in a magazine.I have learnt that everything has to connecttogether to make it appeal to the specifictarget audience. Also, there needs to becontinuity throughout the magazine for it toappear professional and effective.

Codes and ConventionsIn the progression from the preliminary task to the maintask I have learned more about the codes andconventions of the Media industry.I have learned more of the different terminologies inMedia. For example, when writing up research andwriting the evaluations I have been able to refer to theterminologies and understand what they mean.Also, when taking my images I have been able tounderstand the different shot types with practice.Therefore, my image taking skills developed through theprocess as I developed my understand of the differentshot types, angles and mise-en-scene.
