The differences. There was many differences when looking between our final production and our preliminary task. In our final production we have much more thought involved in the entire process as well as time, the positioning was different and mise-en-scene included. Overall our final production was much better.

Straight away you can tell the differences with each opening – the final production you can see from the black start and credits fits into a certain genre, whereas the preliminary is harder to categorise as it was not well thought about.

Lighting

Comparing our lighting of our final production to our preliminary, you can see a more varied and thought about contrast between the techniques used especially in presenting this. Our preliminaries lighting is very ordinary and doesn’t have any creativity, however in our final production lighting use is key as we were trying to create an enigmatic atmosphere.

Continuity.

When comparing to our preliminary we feel we had a greater sense of awareness of continuity, which may not have been there if we had not done the preliminary. This is because after filming the preliminary we noticed that a lot of things were in shot, for instance our camera man was in shot, blazers and bags. Using different sequenced scenes in our final production allows us to have not only a better storyline but keep attention away if any continuity errors had occurred.

Mise-En-Scene

Mise-en-scene was something that was more thought about in the final production, compared to the preliminary task, this is because we had to go out and get all the props and had planning and research time for our final production whereas our preliminary task we was told what was needed and to do it, so we was just in that location at the time. This may be seen as it then looks unclear as to where we are in our preliminary and it may not make much sense as it wasn’t well thought about and planned.

Sound. Sound has to be the most difficult thing that we faced in making our final production. This is because we could not decide what types of drones we wanted to fill the silences with and when we did the drones can be very temperamental depending on what computer your on. Whereas the only thought on sound our preliminary had into it would be the dialogue used we didn’t think about background noises like drones because we hadn't researched anything prior to know this. Non-diegetic sounds had not been thought about.
