Q.4: Who would be the audience for your media product? Target Audience To figure out the target audience for our media product, we need to know what kind of people are interested in spy and thriller films and we also need to think about age and gender. Stereotypically one would think that males would be interested in our film as it has guns, shooting and blood in it, however females have developed an interest in thrillers and it isn't a male genre anymore as it has a fair amount of female interest. So our target audience would be anyone who is interested in spy and thriller films, they could be male or female and most likely in the age range of 15 – 25 as there are tricky and more mature parts to the movie during the court case scenes. This would mean that the audience would have to think and make sense of the movie in their head for them to understand; which would be in the full movie. Similar films I believe “Safe House” is similar to our movie because in safe house there is a young CIA agent who is looking for a fugitive but then his safe house is attacked and he finds himself on the run. For “The Wrong Case” there is a young lawyer who is fighting a court case of a serious criminal, she is then on the run from a serial killer who is out to get her for winning the case against their allies. Therefore I think safe house is similar to our film as the story is based along the same line but with different positions and a different ending. They would appeal to teenagers and young adults as there is shooting and blood in both films which draw in people from those age groups and people who enjoy spy, thriller and action genres.
