In spite of the turbulence that the European Union profile experiences from time to time, .eu and its equivalent in Cyrillic continue to be healthy extensions that are chosen more and more by those who wish to market themselves, their company, and their products as European in the online environment.

The 100 or more testimonials showcased on our YouTube channel are our champions. Their enthusiasm for their .eu websites is what pushes us to work better day after day.

That is also why, at EURid, we decided to continue to strengthen the foundation of our extensions by implementing actions and measures to ensure the security and stability of our systems and procedures.

During the second quarter of 2017, the European Commission started the process of revising the .eu Regulations, a process that we believe will allow .eu to better cope with future challenges and to contribute significantly to the objectives of the European Digital Agenda.

With the release of our latest edition of .eu Illustrated, we celebrated more than five successful years of environmental management within the European Union Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). Over the last five years, we have achieved more than ten environmental objectives, which were set within our 2012-2015 and 2015-2017 environmental statements.

The ADR procedure for holders of a trademark, tradename, company name, or other rights to dispute speculative and abu-sive .eu and .ею domain name

registrations has expanded its filing options thanks to the addition of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center as an ADR provider.

The questionnaire for the purpose of collecting views on the performance of the regulations governing the .eu TLD was launched by the Europe-

an Commission. The existing rules on .eu need to be evaluated to assess whether they are still fit for purpose.

Renewal of MoU with UNESCO

EURid and UNESCO agreed to renew the MoU, initially signed in 2013. Both parties will continue to carry out common projects

that contribute to the promotion of multilingualism in cyberspace, with a particular focus on research into and analysis of the International Domain Names (IDN) deployment, and preparation of joint World Report(s) on the IDN deployment. The World Report on IDN is available at idnworldreport.eu.
