In what ways does your media product use forms and conventions of real

media products?

Front cover

Masthead and image• Firstly, I have used a large masthead, partially covered by the large main

image. This is used so that the main story seems significant, even more significant than the magazine title, giving it an air of importance.

Colour scheme• It also has a colour scheme, which runs throughout the front cover,

contents page and double page spread. Finally, the colour scheme is also contrasting, so that text is easier to read for the reader.

Contents page

Contents organization• It also gives clear sections on the regulars and the features, letting the

reader know what is new in this issue.

Images• Finally, the images are related to articles, and have the related page

numbers on them.

Double Page Spread

Layout• Firstly, I have used an image on one page, and the text is on the other. This is

used in almost every double page spread in real media products.

Bleeding technique• The image also uses the “bleeding” technique by continuing onto the

other page. This links one side of the page to the other.
