In what ways does your media product use,

develop or challenge forms and conventions of

real media products?

Our film opening is called Tormented which is a thriller genre. The film opening shows a narrative that

portrays the codes and conventions of a thriller genre. For example, the ghost/spirit perspective from a POV angle which was used from the movie fallen.

This has inspired us to use a tint on the footage so it looks as if someone dangerous is following our

protagonist.

After the stalking scene the protagonist is seen home alone in her house. Reflecting back to the visionary perspective, the plot becomes more open since it

creates an element of vulnerability but also a sense of an enigma code. We got this impression from the

movie scream, which represented the initial character on her own in the opening hook. Consuming in the

music in the background develops the conventions of real media products. This also creates tension and

the audience asking more questions in who the follower could be?

Mise en scene was only focused within the room. Me and my partner used props such as the teddy bear to portray she is a young teenage girl. The bed covers have blue and multicoloured circles which hints out that Annie is not much of a girly girl. By using these small elements we wanted the focus to be on Annie

and what’s happening around her.
