PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Almighty God, merciful Father: I, a poor, helpless sinner, confess to you all my sins with which I have offended you and for which I justly deserve your punishment. But I am sorry for them, and repent of them, and pray for your boundless mercy.

For the sake of the suffering and death of your Son, Jesus Christ, be gracious and merciful to me; forgive my sins, give me your Holy Spirit for the amendment of my sinful life, and bring me to life everlasting. Amen

Almighty God in his mercy has given his Son to die for us and, for his sake, forgives us all our sins. Through his Holy Spirit he cleanses us and gives us power to proclaim the mighty deeds of God who called us out of darkness into the splendour of his light.

As a called and ordained servant of the Word, I announce God’s grace to all of you and declare to all who repent and believe that in Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven in the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit.C. Amen

Psalm of the Day

P. Keep me safe, O God, for in you

I take refuge.

C. I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

Psalm 16 (NIV)

P. As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.

C.The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips.

P. Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.

C.The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

P. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.

C. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

P. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,

C. because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

P. You have made known to me the path of life;

Q. you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning is now and will be for ever-more. Amen.

The Apostle’s CreedI believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty, from thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Message

Your Offering for the  Work of the Lord

will now be received during this next song

IN YOUR HAND, MY SAVIOUR

In your hand, my Saviour, there's a home for me. It's the safest place on earth to be.There you make me welcome, give me a new start, for your peace has healed my wounded heart.

When I'm near my Saviour, he gives joy to me.God alone, he is my sword and shield. When I'm near my Saviour, he gives peace to me. God shines on each flower in his field.

In your hand, my Saviour, joyful I can be, for you offer precious gifts to me: mercy and forgiveness, even though I stray.Life is now worth living, come what may.

When I'm near my Saviour, he gives joy to me.God alone, he is my sword and shield. When I'm near my Saviour, he gives peace to me. God shines on each flower in his field.

In your hand, my Saviour,I can freely cry, speak my fears, and ask my questions why.Viciousness and evil nailed you to a tree.'Pardon' cries your cross, and sets me free.

When I'm near my Saviour, he gives joy to me.God alone, he is my sword and shield. When I'm near my Saviour, he gives peace to me. God shines on each flower in his field.

In your hand, my Saviour, finally I rest, where my life has been so richly blessed.By your hand you bring me to a future bright, filled with endless peace and joy and light.

When I'm near my Saviour, he gives joy to me.God alone, he is my sword and shield. When I'm near my Saviour, he gives peace to me. God shines on each flower in his field.

P: Let us pray…C: Gracious and loving God, you raised Jesus from the dead, disclosing forever your love for the world. Such a generous act not only showers us with grace, it begs a response. We respond with these gifts and our lives - praying your blessing on them.

C: As you sent Jesus, so send us in the power of your Spirit, to reveal your love in all we do and say. We pray in the name of our risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

SILENT REFLECTIONAs our hearts are prepared for Holy Communion

Holy Communion

P: The Lord be with you C: And also with you. P: Lift up your hearts. C: We lift them up to the

Lord. P: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. C: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Holy CommunionIt is indeed right and good, Lord God, holy Father, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. But most of all we praise you for the glorious resurrection of your Son, the true Passover Lamb, who has taken away the sin of the world. By his death he has destroyed death, and by his rising again he has restored life.

Holy CommunionAnd so, with Mary Magdalene and Peter and all the other witnesses of the resurrection, with earth and sea and all their creatures, and with angels and archangels, cherubim and seraphim, we adore and praise your glorious name:

Holy Communion

C: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.
