• The genre of the film is constructed in the way that the opening credits are presented in the form of a newsflash showing the chaos.

• When framing the film as a news flash can make the film seem more real and apocalyptic because it is a format that we see in our everyday lives, this creates more tension and suspense, thus forming the genre of horror.

• There are flashes of different gory pictures which also represents the genre of a zombie slasher, giving the audience a glimpse of what they should expect in the film.

• The pictures of pandemonium, blood and gore really emphasises the genre of a slasher.

WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF THE MUSIC?

• The music doesn’t seem to fit with the opening credits however this terrifies and confuses the audience even more because we are then expecting the unexpected.

• The voices in the background commentate what is happening and what is going to happen.

• The last two words are said without music in the background, the two words are “death and hell” this is maybe showing what the ending of the film is going to entail.

HOW HAS TYPOGRAPHY BEEN USED?

• The red writing portrays the evilness and destruction that will be created throughout the film creating tension and scaring the audience.

• The writing then turns into dripping blood, again emphasising the gore and guts that will be seen through the duration of the film, it also connotates the death and extreme violence being portrayed in the film.

• When the writing turns to blood, it trickles away, this could emphasise the effect of people running away, or the lives that are slowly fading away.

CAMERA SHOTS

• The extreme close ups of the zombies face and blood across their face shows the audience what is causing all this destruction.

• During some parts of the opening credits the camera is set out in a documentary point of view style making the audience feel that they are in the situation, even filming it themselves and making them feel closer to the zombies.
