Remember, the same Federal and State

requirements for operating the NSLP

in a compliant manner also apply to

the SSO.

Procurement, Menus, and Staffing

Page 17: Purpose of Webinar

These issues should be discussed between the CN Administrator and the respective Superintendent and/or Principal, or Camp Administrator prior to the beginning of operation.

Decisions with a plan in place should be effective day one of SSO operation through the last day of SSO operation.

Transportation, Security, and Adult Supervision

Page 18: Purpose of Webinar

The SFA’s HACCP plan for the NSLP also

applies to the SSO.

If food is being transported for the purpose of the SSO, the SFA’s HACCP plan should reflect this.

Advertise! Advertise! Advertise!

Include the Non-Discrimination statement when advertising the SSO and on all printed SSO materials. It should read:

To file a complaint of discrimination, write USDA, Director, Office of Adjudication, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410 or call toll free (866) 632-9992 (Voice).
