Music videos of Today!

• Music videos today are becoming more common as all the songs that enter the charts on the radio have all got music videos to.

• Sometimes when unknown artist make a good song it becomes popular on youtube and then shoots up into the charts and then a new song comes along and another new video.

• Artists are making more and more songs to go onto their new albums and a few of the songs may enter the radio charts and become more popular than others and then the artist creates a music video for those specific songs.

How do music videos promote the song and interact with

viewers?• The music videos have to be memorable and have to relate to

the song so that the viewers knows what’s happening.• When a listener downloads an album of a specific artist (e.g.

Eminem) their might be a few music videos on the album so that the listener doesn’t have to go onto youtube all the time to look up the music video.

• The music video is a chance for the artist to show off their skills in the music industry and showing they can make a good song with a good music video.

• Sometimes the songs can mean something to the artist and the listener, so a music video could relate not just to the artist but also to the listener/ viewer.

Extension Of Income

• Music videos helps promote bands and artists after the album has been released after the album has long been sold, so that people still find the music good and entertaining while watching the music video.

• Artists for example: Michael Jackson and his music video Thriller. He is still remembered for that specific music video as it was one of the best music videos of al time as it was thrilling, entertaining and energetic.

• Also PSY who did the music video Gangnam Style; this music video has gone down in history and will always be remembered for being the first music video to reach over 1billion views.

•Music videos used to be shown on a TV programme called MTV. Which would increase the views and sales of the music

videos.•Unfortunately now MTV doesn’t shows music videos

anymore as its become a general TV programme showing different TV shows.

•Music videos now are shown on separate music channels which will show the best music videos of each genre and of

each century.
