Challenges:The Bryce Harlow Foundation reached out to Clikzy in need of a website redesign, an easy-to-manage CMS platform, and some advanced functionality. The previ-ous Bryce Harlow website was built on a Cold Fusion (.cfm) platform, which is an older technology that is dicult to manage, especially if you are not a developer. The design itself was outdated and needed to be revitalized to reflect how BHF has grown and appeal to a younger audience. Lastly, they needed to implement a robust, searchable Alumni Directory, add in a Blog, and allow users to pay for and register for their annual Award’s Dinner online.

Solutions:At first, we planned on building the new BHF site on a Joomla CMS platform. As we pushed forward with the design of the site, we suspected that Wordpress would be a better fit for their needs and for their team to learn. Now they are able to manage their site on their own and create new blog posts with ease. The new design projects a modern, professional, and trustwor-thy persona. The interactive aspects on the homepage and the Current Fellows page appeal to this generation’s tech-savvy audience. In the end, the Bryce Harlow Founda-tion team was thrilled with their new site.

Challenges:The NAPABA annual conventions are held in high regard in the law community, and as such, they needed a website that reflected their esteem. Aside from creating a clean and professional website design, NAPABA’s main concern was to create a Schedule platform within the site that was intuitive for their users. This Schedule function had to allow a user to easily access any given Convention day and see the events being hosted, location, and details. Lastly, we needed to create a platform where the NAPABA team could upload news articles and dierent media pieces.

Solutions:To address all of NAPABA’s needs, we built a website whose minimal and inviting aesthetics mirrored its ease of use. Though the schedule portion of the site took a good amount of planning and testing, we were able to create a successful platform that allowed users to sort through the Convention by day, morning or night, and time. This allowed users to easily access all of the information that was so hard to digest on the old website. We also built a news & media section that was searchable and sortable by categories, date, and media type. The clients were happy with the site and would like to create a mobile platform with us in the near future.

“Problems/Solutions” page

Challenges:FairVote Action came to Clikzy with the goal of creating a new website that reached out to a new, youthful audience, that focused on their grassroots campaigns. Though successful in their main website, FairVote wanted the new FairVote Action website to go in a more creative direction that engages their youth audience and encourages them to take action and promote an active, participatory, and fully representative democracy. The site needed to be easy to navigate, and very straightforward in their approach to get information out to users clearly and concisely.

Solutions:We approached the FairVote Action custom website design with the goal of creating a professional but fun atmosphere for users who are young and modern, but passionate about playing a real and active role in our democratic society. We implemented a blog, donation page, and a community section that allows users to find events and actions that are taking place nation-wide. Another unique feature was the “Problems/Solutions” page, which lays out statements and questions that frequently arise, and the answers or solutions to the problem. Designing this page to be interactive emphasizes the idea that educating yourself can be fun and easy!

Challenges:Holding this cause very dear to her heart, Jaime of Lolly’s Locks wanted a website designed for the new non-profit she was starting, in honor of her mother who lost her battle with cancer. The goal was to create a website that allows women to obtain high quality wigs, who would not be able to aord to otherwise. It was important for the Lolly’s Locks website to be bright, inviting, and elegant: embodying all that Lolly was and her positive spirit. Jaime wanted a place where users could share their stories, view upcoming news and events, apply for a wig, and donate to the cause. With so many mundane donation pages out there, Jaime wanted this page to be particularly special.

Solutions:We chose a color palette that was vivid and bright: using white, blue, teal, pink, and yellow as the main colors. This color scheme is positive and gives the site a feminine touch - without alienating any audiences. In order to allow users to interact with one another and share their stories, we built a forum where people can create an account and profile, and start sharing. Regarding the applica-tion for the wigs, we custom designed the form and allowed the applications to be easily stored and sendable to the company that creates them. Lastly, we custom designed and developed a Donation page with interactive amount buttons, and the ability to donate in honor/memory of a loved one.

Challenges:The Littlest Lamb organization was looking to redesign their very outdated website, in hopes of establishing a more professional online presence and inspiring others to join them in their eorts to improve the lives of orphans, a cause they are clearly passionate about. Being active bloggers and hosting a variety of events, the news/blog portion of the website is very important. Their old site, how-ever, listed out all of the blog posts and events directly on the homep-age, in a chaotic and neverending scroll - with no filtering method. Clikzy’s goal was to give the website a facelift, including improving the functionality and building a user-friendly and intuitive navigation.

Solutions:We decided to build the new web-site on a Wordpress CMS platform because of the amount of content Littlest Lamb planned to push out through their site, and the fact that Wordpress has a very user-friendly back end. We used fun fonts and images of lamby, their well known mascot, to bring a personal and warm touch to a website that represents an organization with such a big heart. We also wanted to capitalize on how frequently they used Flickr, so we integrated a photo gallery that would pull from their Flickr account. We made it easy for users to get involved and purchase paraphenalia. Lastly, we designed a blog that was filterable by categories and archives

Challenges:The Georgetown International Relations Association hosts two Model UN conferences annually, and came to Clikzy in order to have both conferences’ websites rede-signed. The NCSC XLI and NAIMUN Model UN conferences are well-renowned and a privilege to attend. GIRA wanted to give both sites a facelift and establish a more profes-sional online presence, that attracted more students to the conferences. The registration and application process were also not very easy before, and GIRA wanted to create a more straightforward and clear process for this.

Solutions:We chose to work with Joomla for both the NCSC and NAIMUN web-sites because of the ease of use in the back end, and because both websites are small in size and easily manageable through Joomla. Taking inspiration from the White House website, we created a professional look that was modern and appeal-ing to a younger audience. We made sure the information on how to apply for the conference, and the login area were both easy to access and prominent. As we are living in an increasingly social media driven society, we included a Twitter feed and a latest news feed - so users can quickly access the most recent happenings with both NCSC and NAIMUN.

Challenges:The Hill Snowdon Foundation needed their website redesigned in a manner that allowed their team to manage and update the website themselves. The previous Hill Snow-don website was built on a propri-etary CMS platform, which they could not manage or update them-selves and had to constantly pay the CMS company in order to make changes. The visual aesthetics were outdated and the functionality of the site needed to increase in order for the website to become a tool to help coordinate with board mem-bers and facilitate the application process for grants - all capabilities that the old website lacked.

Solutions:Our approach was to develop the new website on a Wordpress CMS platform. This allows Hill Snowdon to update and manage their own site, especially after we provided them with training videos showing how to do just that. Being a flexible platform, it was easy to implement two separate login areas - for board members and for current partners. Having this new login area allowed us to nest the grant application behind the login, so the users who were filling out applications were able to do so in a private environ-ment. Also, in the spirit of becoming a resource for its users, we added downloadable pdf publications to the website, that users can down-load freely.
