The Purple Door is a property management
company based in Galway. Susan Clancy and
Jean O’Gorman founded the company in 2010.
We first met almost ten years ago, a time
when we started working together in the
property management and letting sector in
Galway. Originally we both studied tourism &
hotel management, Susan in GMIT Galway &
Jean in NIHCC, Portrush, Co Antrim. We were
lucky enough to have worked in some of the
finest hotels in Ireland. The hotel business
gave us the opportunity to look after
customer’s needs in 4 star establishments
giving us invaluable experience in marketing,
HR, management, customer care, finance,
systems implementation and planning.
Property management was a natural
progression from hotels and something that
we are both passionate about. With almost
twenty years combined experience in the
property management and lettings field, we
felt the time had come to start a business.
In 2010 The Purple Door was formed and we
haven’t looked back since. Although still a
young company we have the experience and
drive to succeed. We feel we can offer a fresh
approach to landlords in both the residential
and commercial sectors.
Amongst other things, we currently manage
one of the largest sites in Galway City. With
275 apartments in the complex we are solely
responsible for the day to day running of
Gleann Na Ri and everything associated with it.
For the past number of years, Gleann Na Ri has
been awarded a special note of recognition
from An Taisce, through IBAL, as being an
excellent site, not just litter free but
exceptionally well maintained .

Being in the property management business for a combined twenty years we understand the

We have hands on experience the difficulties associated with collecting both service charges &
rents but have a proven track record in collecting same.
To all intents and purposes we ensure that the directors of the residents’ management
companies, our client, fulfill their obligations in law by advising them, receiving their instructions
and acting on these instructions.
